Depends on your goals, and the quality of the fish oil. I take 5 or 6 with each meal.

A good rule of thumb is to take your body fat% in caps a day. So, if your 15% you would take 15 capsules assuming you buy regular cheap fish oil containing 300mg of EPA and DHA. Ultimately you should consume 3-6g of EPA and DHA…

I hate doctors recommendations for things like this (as well as the recommendations on the bottle).
I always ask if someone my size (6’ 6" and around 230lbs) is suppose to take the same amount as a female friend of mine (5’ 6" and around 120 lbs) and get the same effect.
Impossible to give a useful answer without knowing the DHA and EPA potency per capsule.
If we’re talking Flameout, you only need 4 a day. You’ll need much more than that with most products, however.
Can anyone chime in on timing and manner of consumption, in terms of nutrient partitioning and so on? I imagine this might depend on one’s goals, or maybe not at all.
At one point, I took 20 caps a day–typically 5 with breakfast, 5 with lunch, 5 with dinner, and 5 with a post-dinner meal (or at times alone)–but cut down after reading somewhere (and somewhat experiencing) how megadosing could indeed make you sick. I believe there’s already a thread that exists which covers this. Also, the smallest cut would bleed me like a bitch.

Take 4 Flameouts all at once, or split throughout day? My goal is weight loss, does dosage change on goals? I have been taking 2 at lunch, and 2 post workout, maybe 1-1.5 hrs afterwards.
the front of this fish oil bottle says EPA 410 mg - DHA 274 mg
the back under supplement facts says:
fish oil 1200 mg
and total omega 3 fatty acids 684 mg
i weigh 180 and if my goal is to maintain and lose fat, how many should i take a day

it just might sound crazy, but i go by feel?
i have extra after a night of drinking… along with vit C E and a complex multi
and some calcium too
it doesnt matter if you take 10g of fishoil
what matters is the epa and dha content… thas why Flameout is so potent
I pop two caps of Flameout and two caps of the Rexall brand (I dunno, Wal-Nasty caries it) with each meal.

yeah this is something i’m always wondering, i just take 2 seven seas one a day cod liver oil tabs.
85mg of EPA & DHA - don’t exceed dosage surely fish oil isn’t gonna do anything!!
but its has 100% rda of vit A as well as my mutil vitamins can taking too much vitamins in supplment form mess you up somehow??
