For those of you who have been unlucky enough to tear muscles while training, I am curious as to how you have done it. I have been going heavier and harder than ever and I do not feel like I am close to tearing anything. Then again, some of you may have felt the same thing. Try to keep the discussion to weightlifting only.
I dont think you feel the muscles tearing or being torn. You just feel very tight. A question for experienced body builders. When you start a particular body workout, your muscles the next day ache. But as you get more used to doing the particular workout your body gets used to it, so my question, do you change workouts every few months to get more tearage.

I sort of agree with what your saying. I experienced a tear (or some type of injury which caused pain) in my forearm and did not feel the tear; though i am certain it occurred during lifting. It was on the upper forearm and am unsure what caused it as i did not notice it until the next workout when i was doing upright rows.
The injury/pain lasted for a while; but eventually went away. I have also had a shoulder injury; but that was related to water skinng pulling the arm out of my socket so dont think this falls under the scope of this thread; though lifting with high reps did rehabilitate the shoulder.
