How Do You Clean Gear?

I just got my hands on a used pair of briefs and I need to clean them. I know there are special products out there to clean suits, but I don’t want to mess with that stuff now.

Can I just throw them in the washing machine and let them air dry?

Titan power wash is the only stuff I’ll use on my gear.

I think if you just leave it steeping in warm water and air dry it then it should do the job. I wouldn’t use a detergent in it anyway.

Some of my cheaper stuff I have washed with mild detergent and air dry. My expensive stuff has never been washed.

Febreeze is your friend.

Yup. Powerwash works great for poly and everybody should use it, IMO.

The key is, if you use the washing machine, put it on the last rinse cycle so that is is agitated in the powerwash, then drained and spun. You do not want to rinse the powerwash out. Same thing if you hand wash it.

We then typically put them in the dryer on low and run it until they warm up good then lay it out to finish up. It is probably best to not let them completely dry in the dryer.

LOL.

If this wasn’t a strength forum… that would sound SO wrong.

lol j/k.

Wow. You’re right Shoebolt. That was pretty bad, and the sad thing was that it sounded totally ok in my head as I was typing it. lol

I just hand washed them with a little detergent. I’ll be sure to get some powerwash when I get a suit (hopefully at the end of the month)

Thanks Guys!

What is this suit washing business you speak of? Isn’t febreeze the same thing?

I’m pretty sure it is, we’re guys…well most of us. Dirty is when it smells bad and clean is when it smells fresh, simple.

i just put mine through the rinse cycle in the washer and air dry

Generally, I guess that works. But these things were previously worn by…who knows. I don’t know about you, but I’m not putting on someone’s old briefs without washing them.

Yes

Powerwash is one of very few products out there for powerlifting gear washing.

Powerwash + air dry = Great!

No Powerwash + air dry = Good

No Powerwash + dryer = Below Par
