Just a question for any experienced guys on here any specifics with washing your gear.Any specifics on what or what not to do when washing.Any info is much appreciated thank you.
I use titan powerwash it’s specifically made for washing poly suits. I like to just put it in my bathroom sink, add powerwash, then squeeze it with my hands for a while, rinse several times then let it air dry. Putting it in the dryer is not good I think it shortens the life of your suit. Running it through the washer is ok, but a whole washer load for 1 article of clothing doesn’t work that’s why I like to hand wash it in the sink.
As far as denim or canvas never ever wash it. If it smells too bad spray it with febreeze. After the workout turn it inside out and hang it up in the air.
Awesome info man See good thing I thought twice before just throwing them in with the regular laundry. Thanks
never washed any of my stuff. don’t wear anything underneath it either. figure its a combo of good luck, laziness, and no purpose to have a clean squat suit. its like putting tire shine on an ambrams tank.
Umm, aren’t powerlifters supposed to stink? Doesn’t it contribute to freakin’ out the normals?
Not that I own any, but I figured powerlifting gear was like regular gym clothes; don’t wash 'em.

Two things.

For poly gear, powerwash works. When used regularly it keeps the material much stiffer than it would otherwise be which is desirable.

The biggest mistake people make when using Powerwash is they rinse it out.
What we do is take the washing machine and move the dial to the last rinse cycle. That way it only gets agitated with the Powerwash and spun out.
We are typically washing a fair amount of gear so we use the washer. The other option obviously is to hand wash it in the sink. However, DO NOT rinse it. You can put it in the spin cycle on the washer or drip dry it, or use the air dry or delicate cycle on your dryer.
That’s good info. I always thought I was supposed to rinse it. But I guess that makes sense to not.

So basically you only want the powerwash to be the only liquid hitting the gear?Is that right?Just powerwash in the wash and let it spin out.
And to be xtra safe just let it air dry, right? Thanks
Yes. Take a look at your washer and make sure you are not putting it in the cycle that sprays while it spins. This is typically the first wash cycle. The last rinse cycle usually only rinses and spins. That is what you want.
If we just have a couple pieces, we just lay them out after the spin. Otherwise we use the air dry or delicate cycle on the dryer and just don’t let it completely dry.
