Odor-Free Sports Bag?

I’ve done a search on google, without much luck, so I was wandering if anyone had tips on washing your sports bags?

Although I put in a fresh kit every day, my bags seem to have soaked up the sweat that comes off my clothes after a workout, which is 6 days a week at the moment.

If there are any handy tips, that would be appreciated, as its a new bag every month at the moment.

Um, has throwing it in a “washing machine” with detergent ever crossed your mind?

Sweet 1st post…

Shockingly enough, I did think of the obvious.

It says on the tag “not suitable for machine washing”.

But thanks

Well wash it anyway, what do you have to lose besides the funk?

Or just toss a dryer sheet into your bag every few days…

x2. Wash it. I wash my gym bag all the time and it hasn’t seem to do anything to the bag except for clean it.

X3

Mine says not to wash it as well, which I ignore. I’d rather have a bag that was a bit ratty looking than smelly.

If you’re really worried about the washing machine, I’d at least try to hand wash it.

Put it in a front loading washer on gentle. Unless it has glue or special material it probably says no washing just because the agitator in a vertical washer would shred it.

Febreze?

I probably should have mentioned that in my first post. I have a front loader, which is definitely easier on the bag.

If you are truly worried it might not hold up to a wash, wash it on delicate, although I am sure it will do just fine under heavy duty.

I have a top loader and wash mine in the regular cycle.

You can tell it’s been washed as it doesn’t look pretty, but all the seams are fine which is all that really matters. (and it’s clean and doesn’t smell)

You guys wash your gym bags? Freaks.

i use those plastic bags you get at the store.
