HORRIBLE GAS FROM 6 MEALS A DAY!!!

Sorry if this is alittle crude, but has anyone else experienced horrible gas when they started eating 6 meals a day? I’ve never experienced this before and since I’m following a pretty decent bodybuilding diet I’m hoping someone has experienced this and has some solutions. I’ll go through my usual diet to see if its just from the food and not the meal frequency: BREAKFAST: oatmeal w/ protein powder & cottage cheese & skim milk. LUNCH 1: tuna or chicken sandwich on whole wheat bread & skim milk LUNCH 2: Metrx protein bar POSTWORKOUT: EAS simply whey, skim milk, maltodextrin mix DINNER: either fish, chicken or steak & rice PREBED: eas simply whey & skim milk.
I know its alot of dairy, but I’ve never had a problem with it before. This is seriously messing alot of things up because I have rediculous gas all day long and Im sure you could imagine what that would be like. Thanks in advance for your suggestions (and any fart jokes are also welcome)

Try Xtra Stength Gas-X.And have your dog nearby(to blame).

I dunno but you ever thought you may be lactose intolerant? You probably have increased the amount of milk you probably have ever drank with this new diet. I’m lactose intolerant and whenever I have any dairy products with lactose I get the worst gas ever. I switched over to lactose free milk and have never had problems since.

umm…fartman…get some Lactaid and try it for 2 weeks, continuing your diet. After that, try weaning yourself or simply quitting the Lactaid. I was in a similar boat, and for some reason I was able to quit taking it all together. That’s been over 3 years ago, and I don’t have problems, anymore. Good luck on this one…fartman!

Ditch the simply whey crap - it has a history of fart causing. Your stomach will likely handle a higher tech quality MRP like Grow! or MetRX. I eat 8-9 times a day with whole food/Grow & MetRx - NEVER fart!

Yeah I shit like crazy too!

I was farting something aweful when I went to five meals a day, but after a week or so my body got used to all the ‘work’ I guess. How long has it been going on?

Thanx for the replies, I just popped some extra strength gas-x…we’ll see how that goes. This has been going on sinse last wednesday, the same day I went from 4 to 6 meals a day. Tomorrow is squat day…needless to say i hope theres no hot girls in the gym…

I think we all have bad gas at one time or another. The more frequent eating really does have something to do with it as well as the type of food you eat. I drink a quart of milk a day in addition to yogurt and cottage cheese. But I’m not lactose intolerant, so I don’t get a whole lot of gas from dairy. But I’ll tell you what, when I do have gas my friends hate me. I just tell them I’m healthy, but they keep saying that I don’t smell healthy! LOL!

Try digestive enzymes and aminogen with your meals. I find both effective for controlling gas. Also, I found that I can make the same progress on the “Warrior Diet” as eating several times a day. Fasting improves digestion and assimilation of food tremendously. I agree with some of the other posts that your body will probably get used to it at some point. However, I will tell you that if you eat when your not hungry (and most people do) your body is telling you that you are not ready for any food and the excess gas reveals that most of it is being wasted. Nevertheless, if you insist on eating several times a day, take some probiotics as well. Good luck

Michelle, that is very sexy…

Not a comment on your gas , but drop the milk in your pw drink since the casein in the milk will curdle when it hits the hcl in your gut and delay gastric emptying.

'Sup wit dat?!? I’m flattered that someone would actually use my nomenclature! Somebody’s trying to be Timbo That ain’t right, man…BTW, Michelle, don’t take offense to that.

yes I have experienced this as well. I don’t know exactly why but my guess is that the protein and/or dairy is giving your GI tract a few loops. I found that a little bit of Bean-o (I’m serious here!) taken with the protein shakes helps. You also might try using Lactaid drops in your milk; both of these things have pretty much cleared up the problem for me.
