In a way this is kind of funny but it has become somewhat embarresing. I have been eating a lot lately at school trying to put on mass. A lot of what I am eating is protein shakes because of my limited access to food at boarding school. But I still get full meals throughout the day.
Anyways, lately I have been having loud digesting noises coming out of my stomach when I am in class. And I get a lot of gas that is really hard to hold in. This might sound odd, but it is a lot worse when I’m sitting down and I never notice it when I am standing up. I really want to gain wait, but this has developped into quite an embarresing problem in class, haha, any suggestions?
How long have you been using the same diet? I find that when I add something in I usually have horrible gas for a while, but then my body adjusts to it and I’m fine.
What about your fiber intake? Gas means something is getting fermented in your colon by bacteria. Usually it is fiber, though my body usually has to adjust to a high protein intake. When in doubt, just blame someone else.
You may be lactose intolerant to some degree. The excessive number of protein shakes can be causing this. There are several lactose free shakes out there, any of them work just as well as a normal shake. I think they taste funny tho. lol
Reef and Peter Orban hit the nail on the head. I second their opinion.

second this-- there is a Poliquin article you can search for that gives a good method of taking HCL. also, food intolerances might be an issue, but since u said this is a new symptom i doubt it. i personally can’t handle dairy or wheat, and have to watch my fructose consumption in one sitting. even w/out intolerances, probably everyone who cares about their body should avoid corn syrup like the plague…
also Thibaudeau recomends bromelain in particular to help digest protein.
