This dude is scary strong…

Wow, that was pretty impressive. Gymnasts always have such great muscular control. Craziness.

DAMN! That is impressive. I bet none of those guys could DL 400lbs. I’d prefer that kind of strength and size over the bulky bodybuilder or powerlifter.

Pretty crazy.

It’d be nice to have that total body control kind of strength of a gymnast AND the strength and size of a weight trainer.

I’d think there’d be a way to have both, but how the hell would you train for it?

If you were over six foot, over 220 and could do all those bodyweight tricks with ease, I imagine it’d translate well to anything else. You’d be a friggin’ gorilla as far as strength goes! Talk about potential.

But how do you get into training for all that when you’re an adult and already pretty damned big? Thats the question.

Do you guys think there is any way to have both? The physique and power of a bodybuilder but the “core” (for want of a better term) strength of a gymnast?

beastskills.com

some of that stuff isn’t even THAT crazy which is pretty insulting to think about lol

planche is like a c-level gymnast skill

You could never be the best in both fields but basic competency in gymnastics is attainable by bigger guys. You just have to work at it for a long while.

I doubt those guys do any type of olympic lifts. Sure, if they work at it they could DL 400. Never seen a weight room in a “gymsantics” gym. Train for what you want to do. I can do about 25 dead-hand pullups and do reps with 50lbs. Clime the rope to the the ceiling without using my legs. I’ll be damned if I could pull myself up on the rings.

gymnists have great upper body strength endurance. Probably the best in the world. Also their lower body weight is a lot less then their upper body weight so they are relatively light and have a great upper body stregth to weight ratio. Their legs have a given level of stregth because you need to stick the landings using eccentric strenth.

now to think that you could have both an impressive complete physique and to perform gynastic excercises with a good level of skill is highly unlikely. As with any sport you can tell who fits the bill. laters pk

Man did you guys notice that gym he was training in. It was like a damn cathedral.

PGJ, you can pull your self up on the rings if you can do just 10, maybe even 8 Pullups. The secret is the way you grip the rings. You grip high on the inside of the ring and pull yourself up chinup style. You should be able to press up like it’s nothin using that style. Try it out. If you still can’t do it, I didn’t decribe it well enough, because it’s REALLY easy.

Maybe that’s it. I took my son to a birthday party at a gymnastics gym. They bounced around and climed all over stuff. The supervisors asked if any of the parents wanted to try anything. I climed the rope, no problem. Said they had never seen an adult do that without using legs. I was feeling a little cocky. Went to the rings and looked like a big doofus. I couldn’t freakin’ do it. However, none of the other dads even tried (I doubt any of them could have even jumped up and grabbed the rings).

No, I dont think he could honestly. Two different types of strength.

Take into consideration, this guy maybe weighs what…someone help me here…135?

Show me someone at 180 or above doing that stuff and I’d be alot more impressed.
