DAMN! That is impressive. I bet none of those guys could DL 400lbs. I’d prefer that kind of strength and size over the bulky bodybuilder or powerlifter.
Do you guys think there is any way to have both? The physique and power of a bodybuilder but the “core” (for want of a better term) strength of a gymnast?
you don’t think that guy could dl 400 ???
No, I dont think he could honestly. Two different types of strength.
Take into consideration, this guy maybe weighs what…someone help me here…135?
Show me someone at 180 or above doing that stuff and I’d be alot more impressed.[/quote]
400 is not that much to deadlift. I’m not saying he can or can’t, but it’s not really that impressive or hard to do.

220 pound regular gym rat deadlifting 400 = okay. 135 pound guy = impressive.
Regardless, I don’t think this guy could do it.
Ya know, when I see crazy feats of athleticism like this they actually don’t impress me as much as they used to. Earlier this summer I went wakeboarding and they were having a clinic.
Long story short - they had all kinds of kids aged from 10-15 doing CRAZY stuff, like flips and spins and you name it, most of it one handed. And these kids were all beanpoles. It made me realize that weight plays a big factor in alot of things.
There are alot of cool stuff that small 130 pound people can do, that bigger people just can’t because of the weight they are carrying. Doesn’t really make these little guys all that special.
Honestly, if this little gymnast guy deadlifted 400 pounds I think I would be more impressed.
No matter how you slice it, regardless of size you have to be impressed by his strength, flexibility and most importantly his dedication and discipline. There is this guy in San Diego who performs Cirque style feats and he is 5’10" and about 220lbs. He can do EVERYTHING the guy in the video clip can (I have seen it live) PLUS he lifts Oly and PWRL style. I met him at the gym in Carlsbad and asked him about his background as he was pulling some impressive weight and doing some crazy shit during his “Stretching” aspect of his workout (all gymnastics style stuff with balance, etc.).
His short story goes like this. He did gymnastics for years and then started to get fairly big toward the end of HS. In college he got tired of gymnastics and started weight lifting and found he was quite strong and enjoyed lifting and swimming in place of gymnastics. Today he contracts himself out for Cirque style performances all over and lifts 3-4 times a week and swims 2-3 times and does his personal gymnastic/Cirque style workout every day that he can.
This dude (I wish I could remember his name because he gave my wife and I free access to his show in La Jolla) was big, extremely muscular and was really strong. I could climb the local HS’s rope with a 120Lb DB five times and then would roll himself up the rope 2-3 times.
Is it possible to have both, fuck yes it is! To think anything is impossible is one of the limits humans put on themselves to explain the reason for failure. It takes hard work, discipline, dedication and a serious commitment to achieve your goals what ever they may be.
If I find this guy?s name I will post it here because this guy was cool as hell and so fucking strong for being natural that anyone would be impressed.
It took him about fifteen years to get to where he is today (he told me) and when I told him if he ever did steroids (this is a good question). He laughed and told me that no matter how strong or physically impressive he looks to others, he is a huge pussy when it comes to needles, blood and Drs.! He passed out when seeing his own blood when he tried to join the marines! LOL!
Anyway, enough said. If you look hard enough you will find guys like this because they usually are not famous within these types of forums but they are out there.

No doubt, the gymnast guy is a beast, he can do preternatural stuff. But, if you’re looking for this that total body control kind of strength of a gymnast AND the strength and size of a weight trainer witness this

Thats Bboy Buana aka Junior. He had polio when he was a kid, it messed up the muscles in one of his legs. His legs are normal size, just weak compared to his upper body. Hence why ALL his dancing is down on his arms.
And yeah, he’s incredibly strong. He got 4th or so place at the red bull competition, where the clips for that video were taken.
