Today while doing my top set on squats, I pushed it for a 6th rep, and while deep in the hole (way beyond parallel) just before ascending back up, I felt a crunch in my left hip, right in the crease of my leg and torso. It was painful and I couldn’t finish the rep and placed the bar down on the safety rails. When I got up the pain wasn’t that bad, but when I tried a bodyweight squat just to test it, I felt the pain again so I called it a day for quads. Did a few sets of leg curls and called it a day. Didn’t want to aggravate it.
Sitting here typing this, a good 10 hrs after the incident, I’m feeling quite stiff in the area. Walking is ok, but lifting the leg up towards my body is painful.
Anyone have an idea of which muscle I’ve strained. I’m thinking psoas major or rectus femoris ? Any advice on how to preceed with this or rehab it.
I’m geussing leg work will be out for the next couple of weeks at least. If Anybody’s had a similar injury, how did you recover and how long till you got back to working legs ?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
