Hip Pain & Driving

I used to get that but freehand squats cured it. Lower yourself ALL the way down and let your hip joint go loose, just like if you were sitting on a very low stool. Let the hip joints roll forward. Don’t let any muscle be tense. Then, slowly raise yourself and repeat. Roll the hips through the full range of motion.

For some reason, exercising the joint in this way eliminated all my hip pain. But remember, EVERY muscle must be relaxed at the bottom position. (I discovered this while martial arts training, teaching myself to come to fighting readiness when in a completely relaxed position.)

Good luck!

Are you supported by bands on your arms or are just relaxing into this position???
Do you think there is a name to this type of exercise/relaxation so I can look it up???
It sounds a bit like tractioning a shoulder with jumpstretch bands and allowing the joint to be “pulled”. Anyway, any more info on that movement is appreciated!!!
Thanks,

No bands. Grab a stair railing or anything solid so you can have your feet a little more forward than for a normal weighted squat. Lower yourself and let your hips roll forward and completely relax at bottom.

I’m a big believer in natural healing – fresh air, sunshine, lots of walking. By exercising the hips through a full range, they will heal themselves.

I apologize. I am trying really hard to figure out how you can roll your hips forward?
Please explain further (sorry) or can I find a picture?

Hope this helps.

When you lower yourself in a weighted squat, you remain flexed to control the weight. Don’t do that with this squat.

Try to touch your butt cheeks to the floor. Let all the muscle relax. (If you’ve ever used a latrine in the field, imagine taking a dump. The motion is just like that.) Then, slowly push yourself back up, letting the hips do the work.
