HIIT running intensity and recovery

I was reading the HIIT by Thibaudeau

Are the sprints at 100% effort? cause doing sprints for 70 seconds at 100% effort is crazy! But is that how it is performed? I find myself pretty much dead after like 15 sec.

Also, anyone have trouble with hamstring soreness after a HIIT? I find it hard for my hamstrings to recover fast enough after HIIT. usually will be sore for few days after that, I don’t know how i’m suppose to perform 3x HIIT a week with hamstrings constantly being sore and without taking supplements like Surge.

Thanks

You know that HIIT doesn’t have to involve running right? High Intensity Interval Training. Not High Intensity Sprint Training.
I hate running, it leaves my knees and ankles feeling like shit, so I don’t run. I row, I box, I do medicine ball drills etc.
