High School Bans Protein

Bring the Protein bars and shakes in your backpack and then when it’s time just go to the restroom and eat it there. If you’re smart about it you will never get caught so it’s all good baby. I ate supplements in highschool and they never said anything but I guess some people are just gay like that.

I’m going to have to start leaving class to go to the bathroom to eat my Metabolic bars after spring break. It’s crap that we’re not allowed to eat, only in certain buildings. Of course, I have 3 classes there, normally in a row. Or just put my grow in a water bottle or something.

In the county I am interning in, protein supplements and protein bars are banned from campuses. They cannot be consumed by students on campus. Shakes OR bars.

for consistancy meat and milk should also be banned.

protein is food.

print him this thread, and if you are a man leave your position if he does not change his mind.

he is an idiot.

LOL.

I think some people need to learn to pick their battles a little more wisely.

Oh of course then the whole Protein:Kidney thing came up.

I was tempted to throw in the whole Trans Fats:Heart Disease, but I got so tired of it I gave in.

Fuck.[/quote]

in the spirit of March…

Don’t give up, don’t ever give up!

Scary. Athletes also like to SUPPLEMENT themselves with water, more than the average joe, to keep themselves hydrated. Guess that’s up next on the “to ban list”? Then go glucose and caffeine?

TS

hey well i’m up in canada, and in my weight training class we are supplied with protein shakes after the class. haha that’s the stupidest story i’ve ever heard. we’re allowed to let our kids get fat, but not allowed to get them leaner?

Why don’t schools incorporate a class on nutrition(beyond elementary school)?

I had physical ed., sex ed, but never talked about nutrition.

/Prevention is cheaper than the cure/

Many nutritionists still believe that any more protein than 10% of total daily intake is completely useless and wasteful. Medical science has always been about 10-20 years BEHIND bodybuilding.

Couldn’t agree more Prof; fucking nutritionalists, they don’t know what the fuck they are on about, just like most pt’s. All the fuck you ever here from them is “low-fat this” and “low-fat that” “Low salt this” “Low salt that” you never here them mention anything eles; heck they’d have you eating 20 potatoes a day instead of your steak and vegetables because its fucking low fat!!!. The only macronutrient a nutrititionalist has heard of is vitamin C and thats only because it “Gives you a healthy glow.” If only they knew the science behind it. Seriously prof you have made me mad with that post. I do something called G.C.S.E P.E. Anyhow, teacher asks a question: “what do athletes need to consume lots of”

I Answer: “Protein”

Teacher "Wrong athletes need lots of charbohydrates to give them energy; and protein can damage athletes kidneys.

FOR FUCK SAKE

And im like “WTF” This fucking pe teacher is probably about 5" 7 and 150lbs 12 %… AND THEY ARE FEEDING THIS SHIT INTO PEOPLES HEADS. If I get asked that question in an exam I am expected to say “carbs”
He also tells us that carbs cant turn into fat…

Sorry im going all retarded on you; and off-topic; but it really does make me crazy.

At the high school where I coach, I have to take a “training course” every year where I learn that I have to tell kids that protein and creatine are steroids and will kill you.

Then I’m expected to tell this to my athletes.

Pity me.

Do you wink at them while you’re telling them?

How is it that serious devotion to learning about health is such a fringe activity yet the entire fucking nation knows what’s going on in TV show XYZ?

Upsetting.

Do you also have to tell them that they might as well go on the Rabbit diet for the rest of their lives? Creatine and protein are pretty much in everything humans eat.

Well, carbohydrates can’t turn into fat can they? (Fat can’t turn into protien… muscle can’t turn into fat).

Eating too many Calories, can make a person fat though.

The day protein is banned in the U.S is the day my picture joins the FBI terrorist top 10 list. Thats no joke either.

I would really like to see one, just one real conclusive paper proving any amount of protein is harmful to the liver. Please post the link if you can find it.

Part of the thing to remember about ignorant wankers is that they automatically salute authority, no matter how misguided or flat-out wrong that authority might be.

So use that against them.

A number of doctors know precisely two things about nutrition: Jack and shit. There are, however, some doctors who are quite studied in the field, and have a great deal to say. The term “doctor” alone often serves to cow the ignorant. Use some of the learned doctors to counter the ignorant braying.

We’ve got one who posts here frequently: Dr. John Berardi. Hell, his system is called “Precision Nutrition”. He’s responsible for training Olympic-calibre athletes, steroid free.

Dr. Michael Colgan’s writings on sports nutrition are remarkably thorough… and he, too, deals with training Olympians and pro athletes. He gives detailed breakdowns on the uses of macro and micro nutrients, along with citing studies done in regards to these.

Next time one of these hairless chimps lips you off about protein being on par with steroids, slap that book down and feel free to cite the opinions of learned PhDs. Use the jargon of our passtime to dazzle them. Don’t pull any punches. Clincally and coldly let them know, in no uncertain terms, that The Authorities on the subject proclaim them to be wrong.

They may stammer and sputter and tenaciously cling to their error out of sheer pride, but they will back down eventually.

TTT…Is it wrong that I found that funny?

What type of pussies are american students?

Did a school rule ever stop you from doing anything? are protein bars distinguishible from choc bars? do the students know the rules? do they care? just dont make a fuss and it will all disapear… well… maybe not… but its not like its enforceable.

I agree with this. This “rule” wouldn’t have even slowed me down. It would have simply been one more rule to find a way around.
