High Protein Recipes

I’m creating this thread so everyone can share their favorite recipes. Did you create/discover something new? Is it delicious? Does it include lots of protein? We want to hear about it!

Protein is so important but many people fail to eat enough of it during the day. So let’s talk about high protein meals :cut_of_meat:

**Recipes don’t have to be extravagant… simple/easy is good, especially for people who don’t have tons of time to spend in the kitchen!

Protein brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 6tbsp Vega protein powder
  • 2tbsp cocoa powder
  • 8-10 packets stevia
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup egg whites
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Add ins, optional

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C). Line a cupcake tin with 3 liners.
  2. In a large bowl, sift flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder and stevia.
  3. Mix in egg whites and water (add more if needed). Scoop 1/4 cup into liners.
  4. Bake for 22-24 min or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

Chocolate Peanut Butter & Banana Milkshake

  • 1 cup lowfat milk
  • 1 tbsp creamy peanut butter (or other nut butter)
  • 1 ripe banana (frozen)
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 5-10 ice cubes depending on how thick you like it

Obvious recipe, but fits the bill if you’re looking for a Chocolate ice cream binge late at night.

All my other high protein recipes are just straight chicken, steak, fish or pork so… enjoy!

I hear you… my protein meals are very plain and boring but I enjoy trying new recipes when I have time.

What do you season your meat with? Johnny’s seasoning salt is my go-to!

I’ve been a Dymatize Elite Whey (Chocolate Meltdown) fan for years and I go through at least 1 scoop a day so the pricepoint makes it a bit more attractive. I’ve tried Metabolic Drive’s chocolate flavor and it also is very good - just harder to drink when I already force myself to down a protein shake (not doing a great job of selling Dymatize RN lol).

A ton of salt mostly but standard spices are garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder - goes great on just about everything. If I’m making something specific for flavor, I’ll add other nuanced spices - but that’s not super common for the course. Always a fan of hot sauces as well, Cholula covers most things well but Sriracha covers the rest

Oh my gosh Bronwen how did I not see this thread?! LOVE IT.

Last night I made Apple Jacked Muffins and added fresh-squeezed juice from a lime, which made it way better. It needed a tart kick.

What’s weird is, I tried to bake it by memory and totally screwed up. I used about half the oats and water, forgot the egg, and might’ve messed up a few other things.

But the muffins came out GREAT. So it’s basically like a magic recipe you can alter nearly any way you want. I keep hearing from people who’ve changed this recipe up based on their prefrences (less sweetener, blended apples, etc.) and the reviews are always favorable.

The only nonnegotiables are: it has to have the consistency of a batter, be sweet enough, and contain leavening agents so that it rises… otherwise you end up with apple jack bricks.

Chris likes to cook dinner, so most of the time I let him. This was one of the meals we had a couple nights ago. (Yes, I ate all of that.)

He has yet to write an article on his baked fries but I’ve put it on Insta before. His homemade ketchup is on T Nation. We probably deviate from what’s written in our recipes because when you make things regularly it gets tweaked over time.

My philosophy is this: Recipes are just suggestions. Let them evolve and make them your own!

Hahaha kidding but not! I love tuna and it’s one of my go-to protein sources when I’m in a rush.

I’ll post some of my creations soon…

This is a dangerous thread for me. I just opened my spreadsheet of saved recipes.

I do not claim to own any of these, I merely wander around on the internet until I find something to make.
Here are 4 I have made multiple times. Not something I do often.

I usually use chopped green peppers and kale for the greens. I have also thrown everything in a casserole dish and baked it at 375 for 20 minutes, depending on how hungry you are.

Can sub cauliflower rice for better macros.

I use Hughes Sugar Free Bbq sauce. Great with no mayo coleslaw.

I have used both breadcrumbs and almond flour, equal results.

I love any recipes with ground beef (or any other ground meat)… I make something similar to this meat loaf except I add Stove Top stuffing and it’s delicious! (With a bit of bbq sauce and some cheese :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

I used to add egg into my burgers and meatloaf but then I was told that it makes the meat dry so I stopped using it. I don’t notice much of a difference either way… thoughts?

NACHOS (sorry… not a healthy recipe but it’s tasty!)

1 bag of chips
1lb of ground beef (with taco seasoning)
Old Cheddar (lots of it!)
Green Onions
Tomatoes
Kalamata Olives

I agree with this philosophy 100%
Unfortunately, whenever I make something fantastic it’s hard to repeat it because I have too many of these:
“a dash of this”
“a sprinkle of that”
“just a bit extra”
“oh crap, I don’t have that so I’ll use something else”

Soooo my “recipes” are constantly evolving! :joy::joy::joy:

  1. Using masks and foil to make bread pans
  2. Using two pots, scilicone tubing and foil to set up a cold smoker
  3. Whipping merengue with chopsticks

This is exactly why I have a hard time writing recipes — I don’t know how much of what the heck ends up in the mixing bowl. I just know what the dough or batter are supposed to look like.
