HEROES The Series! (*Spoilers*)

Fallout Episode 11

What did everyone think of this?

It really ticks me off that they didn’t kill Sylar! You bunch of arrogant morons!!!@#!@#!@ At the very least mindwipe him and leave him a vegetable…but nooooo let’s leave him intact and believe we have him trapped and unable to use his powers…ARGH!!! Mr. Bennet = IDIOT!!!

I found it kind of cool that Peter and the Cop finally met but I wish the cop had questioned him more rather than being…hey he can read minds too cool, ok I’m off to find the cheerleader.

Peter looked like crap at first I attributed to it being around Matt and having the mind reading ability and giving him the headaches but obviously his distress is due to something else?

Nikki, DL and Micah…I just don’t CARE!!! ARGH! I find their storyline so far soo agonizing! I want it to tie in with the main stuff or cut them out.

Pretty cool that Hiro and Issac finally met up, and saw the comic book that he hasn’t even written yet. So Issac is now able to call upon his power at will…and Hiro is battling…a dinosaur? My guess in terms of that picture is that it is at some Natural History Musuem and Hiro grabs taht sword off an exhibit also? My feelings on the dinosaur is that maybe they meet someone whos power is to animate inanimate objects or…the dinosaur is not the real threat in the picture.

Sylar escapes…of course! Who didn’t see that?

So it’s obvious that Peter in his vision comes into contact with the radioactive guy and is unable to supress his powers. I hope they are able to flesh this out more rather than it just being exactly what it seems to be.

I wondered what kind of effect meeting Sylar would have on Peter since Sylar has who knows how many powers. Not sure where the whole being sick thing comes from, although I do remember Mr. Bennett talking about Claire being really sick as a baby.

And Peter’s vision about him being the one that explodes is crazy.

Hiro really needs to find that sword.

Oh yeah I almost forgot…

Who is on the list?

It seems to be a list compiled by Mr. Bennet and his group? Possibly who to kill? or who to watch that could be dangerous?

i wanna know what the Haitian is all about and what Claire’s dad is really up to. concerning what an absolute shit power to have. but i think her, dl’s and micah’s storylines are starting to take root. so we’ll see.

I loved that line!

My question is, does Peter retain the abilities of those he comes in contact with or is it temporary?

My prediction is Micah is going to play a major role in the near future.

I don’t want to spoil things, but you might want to reconsider the notion that Sylar escaped at the end of the episode. Take a gander at the episode 11 graphic novel from the NBC website for further info.

AWESOME!!

That’s pretty damn cool

I totally forgot about these comics after #3. thanks for the reminder.

  1. Remember, Bennet didn’t have a choice about killing Sylar – he’s taking orders from higher up. Bennet seems like a military mind to me: efficient, direct, and orderly. He’s not going to violate that principle.

Eden and the Haitian, on the other hand, think in a very different way. That didn’t work out too well for Eden, though. Still, the girl redeemed herself. She went from a selfish, narcissistic little brat to a woman who was willing to kill to defend the lives of others – even if that meant killing herself to keep a psychopath from gaining her incredible power.

2)Nathan’s a complex character. He can be a complete ass, but he knows loyalty and he’s willing to risk himself for others. he could go either way. His little brother, on the other hand, rocks. Hiro and Peter are easily my two favourites on the show.

  1. DL has become a cooler character than I ever thought he’d be. Jess turning herself in blew my mind.

  2. Save the cheerleader, save the world.

There’s an old Jewish saying: save one life, and you save the world in time. It could be that saving Claire doesn’t save the world in a direct way, but indirect. It might be the way she affects other people that has a ripple effect, eventually preventing one catastrophe… or a series of them.

  1. Hiro changing the past: I think he can. The photo of himself and the waitress wasn’t there when Hiro and his buddy came into the diner. It was there after Hiro “jumped”, though.

I think rather than “you can’t change the past”, the lesson is more that Hiro, in spite of his massive power, is still just a flawed man, and can’t possibly play God. There are too many variables, and screwing with the past is dangerous.

On the flipside, the little dude saved the girl in a much deeper way. Dying may suck, but dying alone and unhappy because of fear of intimacy sucks more. The girl learned how to be happy again before she passed. That’s a huge thing.

I know I’m late on this, but I was given episodes 1-11 (up to “fallout”) on dvd as part of a gift for Christmas so I am at least up to date that far. This is probably my favorite show on television at this point. Does anyone know when the next episode is going to be or have I missed that already?

Next episode is January 22nd, I believe.

Thanks. I guess it is finally time for Tivo.

OK it’s BACK!!! It was weird getting back into it since I was kind of fuzzy where they had left off at but by middle of the episode i was all back into it. Did anyone watch deal or no deal? There was suppose to be some sneak peek at the new hero that they have been writing the online comic book about.

Episode 12
Nicki - In jail and trying to get put in the psych ward for an escape that Jessica is planning I think.

Matt Parkman - I think’s it’s kind of crappy for the FBI chick he’s been teaming up with to dump on him after he’s been helping her out all this time, now all of a sudden she doubts his abilities?

Hiro and sidekick - I think it’s pretty obvious that the only reason his powers have gotten weaker is more to do with mental and the death of Charlie rather than anything having to do with that sword.

The sword was almost a self fufilling prophecy because the only reason he went to search the sword out was because the painting that Issac drew. (For that matter doesn’t that make a lot of his paintings self fufilling prohecies?)

Issac - Not much on him this episode, back in NYC and clean.

Mohinder - I’m curious as to what the FBI is going to do now? Anything?
Peter - In a coma and then wakes up from his dream and finds the guy whose powers make him invisible to regular humans? Or is he really invisible from the naked eye/video camera? And then this guy is going to be his mentor??? huh???

Nathan - It seems that with Peter in a coma he finally might be starting to think there is more to this having powers thing than being something to hide? Hmm

Claire - Ok, this episode showed she was lonely and wanted her friend Zack back, great but if her dad finds out would he then know the black guy (has he had a name mentioned yet?) didn’t wipe her mind?

Mr. Bennentt - So what’s everyone think about htis guy? Working for…a secret black op government agency orrrr working for some secret private entity…maybe like Linderman??? I know it’s a stretch but it occured to me that Linderman is very involved in all of this somehow or another and there must be something to it.

I think that they did this on purpose and I was on the same track as you. But it was a good start.

Good point. I can see this being true.

What ever it turns out to be, the build up is awesome.

Yeah I see this going bad for Claire. But she is so damn hot. Where were chicks like her when I was growing up?

I have not read the whole thread so forgive me if this was stated already. I think that this Linderman is going to turn up having some powers himself. What exactly? We’ll see. He has ties to nearly all of the heroes and I think that it is too much of a coincidence or is that too simple?

-Machine

Anyone else seen the preview on TV where Mr. Bennett is talking to Sylar and it seems that gets killed?

I’m glad you’re finally on board X. As you’ll probably remember from my PM, I thought it was uncanny that this show came out right after you made comments about Hollywood, and television in particular, not being able to get superheroes right. Welcome to the addiction.

I was getting really tired of their storyline too. It just didn’t seem to be going anywhere. However, as Machine mentions in his post above, don’t forget this Linderman guy, who these three have very close ties to.

Somehow I think he’s the one person that’s going to tie this entire story together. I’m starting to believe he may even be Bennett’s higher up, the one who’s really pulling all the strings in this whole “play”.

As for the question about the memory wiper, his name is simply, The Haitian (yes, that’s really his name as listed in the credits). For anyone who cares, the actor, Jimmy Jean-Louis, really is from Haiti, born and raised in a village there until the age of 12.

I saw the sneak peek of the new hero that was during deal/no deal. It’s a woman who can control cyberspace and travel through it. She finds the nuke guy and asks him if he wants to take out Claire’s dad. There was a comic about her on the heroes site.

As for Peter’s illness, I’m thinking it’s linked to his ability. Perhaps absorbing so many powers at once damages your body. I remember the episode where Mr. Bennet told Sylar that stealing powers could be damaging him. Personally I think the damage is mental because he’s getting more unstable. Perhaps Peter’s similar ability is causing him physical harm.

The Fix Episode 13

I missed a few parts last night due to a cranky baby so if anyone could fill in the blanks that’d be helpful.

Nicki, Micah and DL -Ok so don’t care still UGH I feel like their side story is so completely disconnected from the main story and yes I acknowledge Mr. Lindermans possible connection but still right now it’s just irritating.

Hiro and Ando- Ok so George Takei is his dad and had these thugs kidnap them and tell them to go back to Japan? Is that all that happened?

Peter - Come on Peter! Don’t be an idiot, for all you know this could be the guy that leads you to blowing up NY to begin with. In none of the dreams that we saw did it seem to me like this guy was “helping” and now this guy is claiming to have helped others? At first I thought Sylar but I don’t think so since Sylar would just cut his brain open and use the invisibility thing to his own advantage.

Claire - So she found her mom but based on the previews for next week I’m thinking her mom isn’t a good person? I’m thinking…Linderman is her dad? It showed someone in a nice suit as the person her mom called on the phone.

Nathan - Brief encounter with Mohinder

I thought last night’s episode was pretty good.

Once again, the D.L., Micah, Nikki story was boring. Just filler, in my opinion. Which sucks because I like D.L. a lot. I wish they’d tie him into the main story with everybody else. Isaac, Hiro, Peter, Nathan, and Claire have all met…and then there’s D.L. and Nikki (oh and now, Micah, 'cus he “has a secret too”).

I was quite surprised at Hiro and Ando’s predicament. The whole time I (and I’m pretty sure every single other person watching the show) thought they were going to see Linderman and here shows up Mr. Sulu. For some reason I knew it was his dad as soon as I saw him, before Hiro even said, “Father?” (I know, I know, that’s not exactly a startling prediction, but still…).

As for the invisible man, I don’t think he’s bad or that he’s going to be tied to the explosion. Something tells me he really does want to help Peter. I’ve been wrong before, though.

I think it seems fairly obvious the explosion is going to be linked to the guy with the flaming hands they showed for a minute or two in the last episode (the guy who accidentally killed his wife in an episode way back when).

There definitely seems to be something sinister about Claire’s birth mother. I didn’t like the vibe she was putting out last night, at all.

I feel like they’re setting up Claire’s dad to somehow come out as a good guy in all of this. I think it’s going to be something like: Claire reuinites with mother, who gives her some sort of sob story about how Claire was taken, then the mother turns out to be a villian and the dad has to save her from that.

I cracked up when I saw George Takei as Hiro’s dad. Obviously Hiro is still a key player, so I’m interested to see how that works out.

Peter Petrelli remains a humongous douche, his character brings nothing to the table and just gets me irritated when he comes on screen. “Don’t feed into his paranoia.” Umm… dude… you can fly. Does that not make Nathan’s paranoia at least a little believable?

I think the Nikki/DL/Micah storyline has to somehow come back into the thick of things. It wouldn’t make sense to just have this outlying saga. Or maybe they are just preparing something for the second season? I dunno.
