Hi guys!
My posture is really bad and I have decided to do something about it.
So I read the Neanderthal No More series and I did recognize myself in case study 1, having a sway back and rounded shoulders and neck pointing forwards.
Which have led to probably weak back muscles and pain in lowerback, upperback
especially between the shoulderblades, neck and probably shortened chest muscles etc.
In part 4 he writes “it’s important we emphasize that this is a PRE-habilitation program; it isn’t meant to be a corrective protocol for someone after they’ve suffered the consequences of chronic poor posture. In other words, if you have primary subacromial impingement or a herniated L5-S1 disk, for example, lots of these exercises are contraindicated for you (you’d be better off with a true physical therapy program).”
Which leads me to wonder if I am a good candidate for the program or if I should seek help instead (really don’t want to).
What do you guys think?
Stealing my thunder on this article (I just started a thread about it).
what he is saying about it being pre-hab is that it’s meant to help someone before they get seriously injured. Having a bit of muscle pain isn’t severe enough to not do the program. You should be ok to do it as long as you haven’t suffered any joint damage.
lol sorry didn’t mean too. That was actually my first post on this forum.
Anyway thanks for the reply, i think I will give it a try.
Just wonder when i’ll be able to focus on gaining muscles :/. That what i really wan’t to do.
I know this is individual, but how long do I have to just training for focusing on fixing good posture, starting from a very poor one?

That I can’t answer as I have terrible posture myself and am about to start the same program. The only piece of advice I can give is that you need to know that strength and muscle are lifetime pursuits and you must be willing to put in the years to become amazing. So I would just stick to the routine and focus on fixing your issues before you try and get jacked or yoked or ripped or engage full beat mode or whatever the kids are calling it these days lol.
