Help with APT Analysis

After reading the latest article on the site, I found this video interesting;

Smitty Posture Corrector - YouTube!

Interesting not only in the fact that I was watching and thinking that it was a good upper-body postural exercise, but also that I couldn’t help thinking “Maybe you should work on balancing out your lower body, too”. To me, it seemed like he had a pretty noticeable case of APT. Now, I’m still developing my understanding of posture/biomechanics/etc, and I could be wrong, so I was wondering if someone could tell me if this is an example of an overextended lumbar spine? Have I underestimated the degree to which the spine is meant to be naturally arched, and it is in fact an example of a neutrally-aligned pelvis? I’ve always had difficulty with telling by just looking at people’s pelvic alignment, so if anybody can help keep me right, I’d appreciate it.

From what I can see in the film, yes he’s hyperlordotic, worse when he’s activting his scap retractors.

Thanks for clearing that up, BBB!

I believe that’s Bret Contreras himself showing the drill; just thought it was kind of ironic that “The Glute Guy” should be seen to be demonstrating such a case of APT…
