Hey, thanks for the welcome.
Considering how lean you look, I am sure I can also learn a few things from you!
I have had a few injuries over the last few years, specifically a torn right brachioradialis, which has affected my upper body training to some degree, meaning lighter weights, no pullups or straight bar pulldowns, but can still low row.
My lower back has also given me trouble over the years with a bulging disc poking its ugly head out occasionally, but it has been very good the last 8 months or so.
Currently I train full body every other day, about one or two sets to failure for each bodypart, trying to stay in the 10-15 rep range.
On alternate days I do 30 mins stationary bike at a moderate level.
I also have a nice home gym setup that I acquired over the years on craigslist which includes:
leg press
leg ext
leg curl
power rack
standing calf
seated calf
home-made squat machine which does not require a bar on my back (works pretty well, actually, kind of like a hip lift with harness)
pulldown/low row
cable crossover machine
dumbbells 15 to 125
hyper bench
old nautilus pullover
hammer iso-incline machine
home-made standing press which takes the brach out of the stabilization portion of that movement
Not bragging about the equip, just sharing where I stand equipment-wise.
Some of it, especially the combo pulldown/leg ext/leg curl is old school, possibly home made but really works well for what it is.
(I’ll try to upload a few pics of the setup)
I have found that the full body approach works pretty well for me, since if I pyramid, I tend to go heavier than I think I should be going and the full body workouts tend to keep my muscles fuller than if I only hit each bodypart once or twice a week.
Also considering TRT due to prior testicular cancer/loss of L teste but that is still in the research/decision stage and a topic for another thread.
As I said, I think I may do the most learning and the least teaching here.
A lot to learn from this site!
I just want to get into the shape I know I can achieve and seeing some of the pics here, it has motivated me to take my training/diet to the next level.
Good to hear from you and hope this post was not TMI!
