Introduction

Hey folks. I’ve been a T-mag reader for about a year, but only today decided to get in on the Forums.

A little background on me. I’m 21 and a college student, studying history and philosophy with an eye towards law and/or business school after graduation (in about a year or so, I hope). Anyway, on to the fitness stuff.

My profile says I’ve been training for two years, but it’s really more like one and a half. The first half-year saw me getting started and pretty much half-assing the workouts without making any progress at all - but in May 2002 I really took off. You see, I was one of the fat kids in high school and through most of college thus far. At the end of May 2002 I was weighing in at 260 lbs, most of it chunk and very little of it muscle. But that summer and since then I’ve trained in earnest. Losing fat and putting on muscle at a modest rate, I now weigh in at 200 and look and feel vastly better than I ever did…hell, I cannot even remember when I last weighed this little. I still have about 20 lbs or so to get rid of before I reach my goal, and considering the progress I’ve made thus far I should be able to reach it before the year is out, at the very least.

My main goals are functionality, better health, and looking good, in that order. My long term goal is to be like Jack LaLanne…I can only hope that I’m still kicking ass like him when I’m 85. I don’t compete in any sports, due to my class load, but I have found Renegade Training to be very useful thus far, and have also picked up much knowledge from Christian Thibaudeau’s Black Book of Training Secrets (love the sledgehammer GPP…all my friends wonder why the hell I have a huge hammer in my room).

Anyway, I’m very happy to be here and when I reach my goals I’ll submit some pictures. Until then, keep pumping iron and beating some ass!

Welcome!

(Lurkers and newbies attention: Enter this way.)

Hellloooo there!!

(Agreed, Jim)

(Anyone else notice how the Red Kat advertisement slows down your typing?)

That is line by line close to being the perfect introduction for the crowd on this board.

Notice, confidence, yet no real hint of arrogance.

Excited to be here, but not annoyingly so.

Does his research before posting.

Pay attention Neal!

Also agreed. For everyone who says that newbies get screwed by the veterans, I’m here to say: welcome to the board, er, father.

Looking forward to seeing those pics. Post before and after if you can.

Holy Crap - he’s been reading…!

God Bless you Mossy…!

Welcome!!

Welcome to the Fun of Forum Land!

Everyone is right…this is a perfect intro!! I wish I had done the same thing actually.

I see no need to wait until you post pics…you can always just post a pic of your favorite or best body part. The pics showing progress are a huge help to those just starting out that think they will never get to their goal. We all had to start somewhere, be skinny bastard or fatty…doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are in control of your destiny now and with your attitude you will reach those goals.

Good luck in your training and education. I am sure you have a very bright future ahead of you!

Welcome to the Zoo Father. Good on ya for your progress! Keep it up.

We’re at a loss…nothing to flame. :frowning:

Seriously, welcome aboard. It should be fun.

Thanks for the welcome. I’ll get on those pictures soon.

Wow if you didn’t post your age I would have guessed you were much older. You seem like a very mature 21 y/old, (perhaps the handle implies you feel this also?) Great to have you aboard!

Welcome!

Welcome, buddy.
