No offense big man, but I REALLY think you should start posting some pictures more similar to these. I feel your previous pics didn’t do your physique much justice. Not saying I thought you weren’t developed before, but his pic shows your strong points (along with weaknesses) much better.
You look good though. Traps are obviously yoked, but see some stomach definition and overall just need to lose some bf. Honestly you look like you’re going to look dense as fuck, that powerful grainy look, once you lean down.
Is that separation in the pec/delt tie in I see…?
You really should take better pictures for this thing to actually work optimally. That means taking pictures of the same type of poses (Zraw wants to have front + back relaxed) under the same conditions (same background, same camera distance, same lights, etc.).
No excuses, just do it. You will be glad to have done that later on.
Otherwise, you are doing fine.
Good work so far in here Mike.
Some of your photos are way to close to the mirror IMO to properly critique what needs to be worked on.
As the others guys suggested mark a spot from a mirror and use same lighting/trunks/distance/time of day to mark your progress.
I think you will really like your physique when you get under 190.
I popped in to see how HT is doing and all I can say is, I’m not sure what is more impressive. His massive traps and shoulders, or his lumberjack/all-that-is-man beard. I feel like the only beard that I’ve seen that could beat it is Wendler’s.

Its got to be the beard!! Reminds me of the Closer for the SF Giants except HT doesn’t have to use black shoe polish on it!!
i actually was thinking about coloring my beard, you cant tell from these pics but i have quite a bit of gray coming in close to my ears/side of my face. lol

Looking at this, it appears that you’re not as bad off as some of the other pictures suggest. Sure, you’ve still got a ways to go, but the thickness of your waist is making you appear fatter in the earlier photos. This is why better photos are so important to Z, they help him accurately assess where you are and how you’re progressing without being there to actually pinch you. I imagine some of that waist thickness is visceral bodyfat, but I also think you’ve probably developed a very stout midsection through years of squatting, pulling, cleaning, snatching, and endless rotational movements with throwing.
I think you will be getting an arm day soon.[/quote]
also, i did not want to say this before you mentioned it, about my thick waist, because i did want to seem like one of those fat guys who make excused about their big guts, but if you were to meet me in person, i think you would agree, that my waist is pretty fucking solid, your have to get real low and toward the back of my flanks to pinch any meat at all. i agree, i think the 20 years of heavy olympic and power lifting and rotational throwing has something to do with that.

But that dude makes his beard jet black LOL a little over the top… I grow mine out from time to time but I have at least 4 different color’d hairs in mine so its not a good look LOL
k. it is 3 am in morning, i have a rare night off work, and i have some Kentucky Bourbon in me, so take this for what it is worth.
when i started this diet thing, it was nearly 3 years ago, i was over 260lbs, and a typical squat workout had me doing reps over 500lbs, a a typical deadlift workout had me doing reps with over 600lbs, a typical overhead workout had me doing well over 300lbs in the jerk from the rack for reps, and i was doing cleans in the low to mid 300’s for reps too.
i knew that despite these “decent” numbers, especially for a guy my age and my injuries, that they were nothing special, and i wanted to look and feel better for myself and my wife not feel self concious in certain clothes and when taking my shirt off at the beach, ect, or naked in the bedroom with the wife.
if i was not setting records or competing anymore, why bother being so big and fat.
on my own i got for 260 plus to 230’s, went from 40 inch waist and 3xl shirt to 36 waist and xl-large shirt.
almost daily i receive comments on how much better i look, for the first time in my lift i am not the big strong fat guy, but strangers are coming up to me and complimenting me on my arms, my physique in general.
i let this get to me, and it feels good, i try to take it to the next level, and i stall at 220’s. i linger at the 220s for so long i get desperate and basically starve myself to get down to sub 210, which is good, but i feel depleted, flat, and like an squeezed out sponge.
then an offhand comment on one of Z’s threads makes me say: fuck, i will take the personal coaching if this kid does not want it" half serious, half joking, and guess what, Z offered his help! and better yet Strong offers to help with the programing, !!! win win.
well, almost am onth into this, i have gained back up to 220 following a healthy diet, (not the starvation i was doing) and then now, of minutes ago, sitting at 205.4lbs.
though i am getting some random positive comments, seems that my main coach keeps telling me how i am still a fat fuck and need to do better. again, i am little drunk and tired right now, 70 hour work weeks will do that to you, but come on. i kmow i still need a lot of work to be contest shredded, but who says that is the end all be all of success?
i have done a lot so far, and am a little tired of only hearing about what i have not done so far.
if that disqualifies me from my status and the latest fat -guy charity case, then so be it.
since i started working with Strong and Z, i have lost another shirt size, and another pant size.
my friends and more importantly my wife, who is the only person who really matters, as she is the only one who is gonna be seiing my abds in an up and personal way, likes the improvements i have made so far.
what am i bitching about> ??? not sure, like i said, i had a couple of shots of strong Bourbon, but i am tired of negativity. i have accomplished quite a bit, and i am having lots of issues at work right now and not to get too personal, i am done with any excess negativity in my life right now.
btw, my airdyne bike that i ordered JUST TO DO CARDIO FOR THIS THREAD should be here in a couple of weeks.

Wow - looking like a beast.
You are really getting there HT - Keep it up!!
You have every right to vent, not too many people will lay it all out there for faceless posters to interject comments, I certainly would be hesitant. Basically there is a place and time for everything, sometimes you need a kick in the ass and sometimes a pat on the back. I don’t comment much but follow this thread on a daily basis and am rooting for you.
HT I think your doing great big guy.And I commend you on doing this while working night shifts like you do.Anybody who has not worked them before has no idea how they can run the shit out of ya,and you never really adapt to them either.Any way just wanted to comment on your efforts. Also I love the airdyne bike,I’ve had mine for years and you can get some great cardio going on those things.
I’ve been following along, but just wanted to say good luck. You are a big dude, and I can’t wait to see the turnout of this. I was searching through and didn’t see and stats for your lifts. Any chance you could post what they were before and what they are after? It would be interesting for those who are strength oriented. I realize that isn’t the main focus of this so if not its all good.
