no worries opth, i am aware of my man-boobs and other flaws, lol.
btw, if i noticed anything different about my body since implementing Strong’s programing, is my leg condition. i believe my legs have become more vascular since starting.
hard to get a pic that the lighting shows it, but this one does somewhat.
A month in, how would you rate things so far?
Pretty good! 3 .5 stars out of 5 maybe? i love the workout routine, the diet, well, lets just say it is a little boring and i crave pizza and hamburgers time to time, but not really. i am NOT hungry, it is plenty of food, and my energy levels are fine.
i am seeing more of a difference on the scale than in the mirror though. also, i can tell i am getting smaller by how my clothes are fitting, but i still dont see a HUGE difference in the mirror or pics. i suppose that will come.

I hope it’s OK to chime in, but I wanted to say; HT, I admire the hell out of you for being able to do all this with the incredible workload and family responsibilities you have. I read through the thread and I saw that your coaches had to, kind of, put you back on track but still; much respect.
Looking forward to seeing the end result of your hard work.

Yea that is a pic of me… I’m thinking it was from my first game of last season…

Totally agree. Mirrors are tough because you see yourself every. single. day.
It’s the people who only see you a few times a year, or much less often, that will probably give the big ego boosts. Don’t be let down if those around you aren’t showering you with praise - it’s tough to tell differences when you see someone so often and plus, most “normal people” don’t really know the difference between HT at with more BF% vs less BF% through clothes. You’re making good progress and your wheels are looking sick.
Trust me, when you finish up and look back at pics you’ll probably say “Holy fuck” out loud. Keep on trucking man, you’re kicking ass.
HT, I competed as a full 198/220 when I was in college, and now I’m ~170. I was bulked up for quite a few years and the weight loss was a total head trip for me. I lost about 25 lbs before I really SAW it.
My advice is to stay the course, take good measurements like Z is recommending, and to remember that day in and day out consistency and trusting your hard work and your coaches will get you there.
Stay as hydrated as possible, water retention will screw with your mind big time. Fat cells hold water, even after theyve emptied out, so there will be “whooshes” where you tighten up overnight and periods where the scale is moving but you dont see much physical change.
You legs are definitely looking leaner to me already. Keep up the hard work!

No offense meant but here is what you should realistically expect as far as visual effect is concerned over the next month :
No major visual changes if you take pics
You carry a lot of extra fat and even if you drop some it wont show much muscles, if it all, because these muscles will still be surrounded by fat
This is why I need measurements, they will be more telling than pics, at least for now
Also, try taking normal pics plz -_- ask your wife it takes 2mins
One full body from the front, the side, and the back
as much as i would like to prove you wrong about this, i think you are right. when i started this i was sitting at 230-235, and i thought that i gonna be where i wanted to be at 205, well this morning i was 209.6, just a few lbs from that 205 lb goal, and i am no where near as lean as i want to be.
for reference, this is me at the beginning, about 235, months before you and Strong got involved with helping me:

another 209lb pic, i am see a little more definition in my arms, and i am starting to see abds, a little better at least.
Looking at this, it appears that you’re not as bad off as some of the other pictures suggest. Sure, you’ve still got a ways to go, but the thickness of your waist is making you appear fatter in the earlier photos. This is why better photos are so important to Z, they help him accurately assess where you are and how you’re progressing without being there to actually pinch you. I imagine some of that waist thickness is visceral bodyfat, but I also think you’ve probably developed a very stout midsection through years of squatting, pulling, cleaning, snatching, and endless rotational movements with throwing.
