I don’t really know how to explain it, other then when I do anything that has a slight amount of activity outside of walking I start getting a headache. The more intense the excercise the worst the headache gets. I had this same thing happen about a year ago when I was playing basketball. It just started up again a few days ago. The pain is usually on the left side of my head, in the back or front. Going to a doctor is out of the option, when I went last year they had me do an MRI and nothing showed up, so that wasted $1000. If I remember right last year I took some advil before practice and I didn’t have the problem but whenever I didn’t take it my head would hurt.
Anyone have any ideas of what is wrong and what I can do to fix it? I can’t ask my dad to take me to the doctors again, he has no clue and will suggest an MRI again. I don’t have the money for that.
Go to the doctors again. They won’t do another MRI - it didn’t show anything. Tell them you’re concerned about money, and if they suggest an MRI, ask about other options.
No one can really afford healthcare anymore. It’s not a big deal.

I did have the thought that most people on hear would tell me that they don’t have the knowledge to help me, but I was hoping that somebody on here might have had a problem similar to mine and would be able to advise me.
Doctor I usually go to though is just a family doctor, which basically means they don’t know anything but colds and flus.
There are a bunch of threads on exertional headaches. I suffered from them awhile ago, and ibuprofen helped it. I’m not saying thats what you have, but it sounds like similar.
For me it came on whenever I started working semi hard, i.e. heart rate elevated and it lasted a couple months. I’d get them from doing squats, bodyweight circuits, just plain old jumping rope, and even sex/masturbation. I took ibuprofen before I worked out or did anything strenuous and I could get pretty solid workouts in w/o having serious headaches.
They were pretty brutal headaches too, nothing like I’ve ever felt before.
^ alright thanks. I’ll try taking some ibuprofen before tuesdays workout and see how it goes. Take them like 30 minutes before? I’ll also try stretching my traps, and see if it will help. I get my headaches doing anything physical, even light physical activity, they just are very light headaches.
…the headaches I would get felt like my head was about to explode. It was a definite pounding sensation too. I never had one put me on the ground, but they did end a couple workouts before I figured out what was going on.

I always get headaches when I don’t drink enough water. How is your water intake?
fairly good.
Measure it.
measure it? fine, over 48 ounces a day, usually 24 while at school and another 24 or more plus milk while at home. The same as or more then I usually consumed before the headaches.

Same with mine. Light activity (like walking up stairs) doesn’t produce headaches, though I can feel my head coming to one, if that makes sense.
Okay, seems like the first one is the one I have, but it doesn’t really tell me how to make them stop, unless I missed that part.
If it’s in your trap, pinch your trap in the spot where you have the trigger point. Other ones you just massage several times a day with your finger tips. SCM trigger points require you to bend your head to loosen up the SCM on the side with the trigger point then massage it between your thumb and fingertips.
