So it’s Rev Tuttle.

Rev Tuttle is dead
Not in 1995 he isn’t.

LOL!
Maybe, the old bald headed fart or one of the detectives helping on the case.
It would be some shit if it were the very first Sheriff that was at the crime scene.
Isn’t the yellow king the one with the scars? Cohle is pretty convinced that it starts and ends there, though there may be many many more involved then that. As seen in the disturbing videos. Great commentary on this thread and I’m excited to catch the ending ![]()

I was thinking about that, too. He recognises the scene as Satanic, stating that they had a 20-20 on it a few years back (looked that up in police code but didn’t find anything… if anyone knows what it is).
Other than Rev Tuttle, the only other guy I could think of in the first episode is the miserable police chief. Would explain his scowl.

I’m sure he was talking about the news TV series on ABC named 20/20. There’s no “20” code, they all start with a number 10. A 10-20 is a location.

Ah that makes sense, cheers. Can’t beat local knowledge ![]()
Well, all questions are about to be answered.
Simply breathtaking. That was the best ending that anybody can possibly hope for. I really wish there won’t be a season 2. It’s perfect the way it is.

I think in the end the plot will be pretty straight forward.
The brilliance is in how he keeps the audience second-guessing and wrapped up in all of these possible suspects/scenarios. [/quote]
Looks like I was right. Now it’s interesting to go back and look into the thread and see how the writer/director/actors got into our heads.
A masterpiece.
I can’t remember the last time I was so worked up watching TV. Fucking intense.
I kept waiting for someone to get caught peeking through the bushes and running away to leave the story with a loose end.
Yeah, the only thing better would leave a loose end by having a law-enforcement type be seen at the house walking away as perhaps a suspect#2. And this person would have had a few bit appearances in other episodes. Maybe a guy from the Task Force???

X2.As much as I would love a season 2,I don’t think you could even come close to what this season gave. This was such a great display of top notch acting and directing that I don’t think It could ever be topped.
The wife and I watched all the episodes this weekend.
Fucking out of this world, best show I have seen on TV ever.
The dialogue and how this was written, the writer has a very bright future.
That was a great ending, Marty makes the biggest break in the case and Cohle ends up finding some meaning to life, and they did it without it feeling forced or cheesy, it was just solid character progression. Still creepy to know that not all of the cult members were found though. As for season 2, I really want to see a cross country case with some international actors. Something like a series of murders across Europe that are similar. I’d also like to see a completely different psychology for the killer in season 2. If you ever read about serial killers it’s scary but really fascinating stuff.

.
Great ending best show since the wire imo… loved the ending… I wonder what Rust meant in his ending dialogue. . I got the point of a afterlife but not sure past that. Kinda wanted to see the conspiracy exposed but I think the news outlets getting the snuff video will do that.
Season 2 will hopefully be as good but damn that was some fucking aswome tv.
Great ending, but quite a few red herrings along the way.
Rust 's ending rant was about being reborn. When Marty asked about going back for his clothes, he was leaving everything behind including his past life. He finally saw the light.
