HBO's True Detective

The scene in the bar where McC “cheers up” Woody after his wife tosses him out (before they head to the biker rally) is some of the bet male bonding ever put on screen.

So I was thinking last night about the girl in the psych ward. She said he had ‘scars on his face.’ In episode 2 or 3 they had a pic of a man that they were calling the green eared spaghetti monster. So I’m thinkin’ spaghetti equals scars… scars equal spaghetti. As for the green ears… Cohle was speaking to the maintenance man in front of the school & he was wearing green protective ear phones…

Take it for what it’s worth…
Yea- I’ve had a friend or 2 tell me their hunch is that the guy mowing the lawn is the big baddie. I don’t know how I would feel about that as he was so brief and had almost no lasting impression on me.

Either way, it’s going to be good!
Agreed… Plus, the maintenance cat had no scars.

she said the man with the scars you made me watch, referring to Reggie, then Rust asks her if anyone else was there bro, but you are right that the green spaghetti monster is important because in the previews Rust tells Marty that he’s the key to solving the case

So we all agree that it would be to obvious for Rust to be the killer?

I just don’t see why would see his side story so much where he is tracking down leads if he was gonna be the bad guy. Of course, that has happended in 1,000,000 movies to date but I don’t feel the show goes that way

Yeah, it would be too obvious. Rust is cutting up the beer cans forming them into “scenes”. The meth guys who had those kids said he recognized the demon in him. Or, something like that. Same crime scene, he was very quick on what to do to cover their tracks. Great show.

Maybe like Marty said, ‘you miss clues right under your nose.’ So at this point, anything is possible.

very true

I read this yesterday, the 5 Horsemen Theory is pretty crazy. I need to go watch all of the episodes again to see what I might have missed.

Outstanding!

Does the landscaper have scars beneath his beard??

No shortage of crazy pussy as this story goes along that for certain. That jail cell scene with the crazy mother was unreal.

Holy shit.

Shall we make it a tad more interesting? What do you see?

Holy shit… the last episodes are gonna be unbelievable…

My heads starting to hurt lol.

It seems to me that viewers are being tricked into thinking that Rust is the killer; My view is that Rust is the “good guy”. The police are putting a lot of effort into preventing him from investigating further, suggesting they have something to hide and Rust is close to uncovering the truth.

I’m loving it so far. McConaughey has definitely carved a new image for himself, proving that he is far more versatile than previous roles have given him credit for. I liked his stint in The Wolf of Wall Street too.

I’ll give props to any man who willingly sheds muscle.

One more before I drown y’all w/all this.

If you look at the beer can people that Cohle made, you’ll notice all the heads are yellow & they are stars OR police shields…

It was too obvious that Rust may have been perceived as the killer by many. The dark horse to me is Hart, there’s a lot going on with that relatively quiet good family man. Definilely on the amoral side and something’s going on with his oldest daughter.

Agreed. What about his wife?
