Hate and Negativity on This Site...

You should totally take over military training. I got yelled at in basic training and officer candidate school. I always knew the guys yelling at me did that because they were insecure and not real T-Men. :frowning:

Those “estrogen men” in the Navy SEALS yell at recruits and call them weak. WTF?! We need some real T-Men to take over all of our military training - at the very least, the elite training.

Because, after all, who is a real T-Man: A Navy SEAL or some guy who picked up a label from a website and applied it to himself?

Good post. Someone who truly sees no need for some form of degradation when it comes to guys and how this can have a positive outcome has either never been in the military or never been on a football team with a really tough old coach.

Insults for no reason are pointless. Asking why some 140lbs guy is posting half naked pictures of himself while asking to be rated has a point.

For the record, while I have nothing against the concept, anyone who truly feels the need to call themselves a “T-Man” probably isn’t.
It’s kind of the reason I don’t come on here so much now. Same fucking questions by the same skinny guys.

I ain’t the biggest guy, but I’m heavier than most my weight, and I did it by research both here and under the bar… which seems like a foreign concept to the fleet of young twigs coming here.

Yeah…that was me.

You’re heavier than most your weight? That must be a close call.

Don’t worry though, I’m taller than most my height.

Note: This isn’t a personal attack, please don’t get upset.

Note2: I agree with ProfX on the “T-Man” point. Most people that have to repeatedly verbally proclaim how manly they are, typically have little to actually show for it.

I think everyone has their moments of being a productive, helpful, motivational person on this site. Then other moments are full of hate, ridicule and insecurity.

Profesor X for example… I have seen some posts from him that were great. informative and motivational. Other times I think he is being a complete crouch bite! He had a moment because he’s HUMAN! And everyone else is the same. and i bear no grudge! what’s the point!

Keep it up Prof. X, Vroom et al.

We need your help!

Dave

Oh come on. Is the OP talking about the military, or the people on this web site?
Gee, I thought you were discussing positive and negative reinforcement. Anyone who has even trained a puppy knows there is need for both.

Those that are so weak that the slightest call out results in them throwing a tantrum and leaving probably won’t stick with bodybuilding for long. Those that actually take a look at themselves when the heat is on them are the same ones that log back in later writing that they are glad they finally listened.

If the people throwing negative remarks are truly clueless themselves, then by all means, lets all jump right back on them. If, however, you are complaining because we aren’t being extra nice to people who don’t even work out but want praise for how they look after 3 weeks of walking past a gym, what are you thinking?

Black Hole?

Well, shit, if it works in one situation, it must be universally applicable.
There you go again, applying false analogies. This is a bad habit you have.

No one who has said, “I am fat and weak, please help,” has been ridiculed. Ever. People who say, “I am big, rate me a 10” but weigh 135 are ridiculed.

Are you unable to see the difference?

If a guy goes to church and begins to rape a nun, he will be met with a different level of “instruction” from a priest than someone who is seeking religious instruction.

Heck, I can think of a famous “priest” who knocked over some tables and threw some people out on their asses when they misbehaved in church. This same man also regularly comforted the sick and preached mercy towards the poor.

Inconsistent behavior? Only among the truly dense.

What is your babysister’s phone number? (I realize you’re 19 at most; so I don’t believe you have a five-year old.)

This is the worst of your analogies, though all of them are bad. It’s one thing if the bartender gets an order wrong. It’s quite another if you go into the bar, order a gin & tonic, and you get a jack & coke. When you say, “But I ordered a gin & tonic,” and he replies, “That’s what I gave you. Drink it,” then you have a problem.

No one is saying there is necessarily anything wrong with weighing 140 pounds. What people are saying is that it’s wrong to demand propers when you weigh 140 pounds.

Is it that hard to grasp? Really. You may as well have typed: asdfjk;lfoiewafs. It would have shown more thought than what you actually wrote.

Here’s an experiment to demonstrate my point. Start a new thread. Say: “I weigh 140. I want to get bigger. Please help.” People will be tripping over themselves giving you links to articles, etc.

Then post a thread saying: “I’m 140 pounds and ripped. Bow down at my largesses. Rate me a 10, haterz!” Then see what happens.

Again, if you cannot see why you would be treated differently in those two situations, then you have your eyes closed.

I think the whole T-Man/T-Vixen thing is dumb. It just sounds gay.

Just the other day the preist at my church was yelling in the faces of the old women praying there, calling them sorry maggots who didn’t believe hard enough.

Or the babysitter I hired for my 5 year old, she makes him do pushups or doesn’t give him dinner.

What is your babysister’s phone number? (I realize you’re 19 at most; so I don’t believe you have a five-year old.)

And you should have seen me when I was out at the bar the other night: The asshole got my drink wrong, so I threw the glass at him and told him to get his head out of his ass and do his job right. You’d be proud.

I’ll let you in on a few secrets: I dont go to church, don’t have any kids, and don’t go to the bar.

The analogies were made to parody your implication that since your superiors during military training were “manly”, acting the way they did in that context is regularly a good idea.

But hell, maybe the truth lies somewhere in the middle: That for some, taking it easy on them will get them more involved, for others, a good kick in the ass is what it takes to motivate.

Let’s all become Scientologists; then we can be cool like Tom Cruise.

(For the record, I actually like Tom Cruise, he’s alpha.)

He’s a nutbar!!! Hot wife though!

I think people who degrade each other generally have problems with themselves.
Getting degraded by a drill sargent is a totally different thing and should have not even been mentioned. They do that to toughen you up, probably because you will need it when you get your fucking legs blown off, which is totally different then normal life.

I totally understand what you mean Kroby. I know the only time I ever insult people and think badly about others is when I feel equally as badly about myself.

What’s wrong with being a nutbar? Albus Dumbledore is a nutbar (or WAS, seeing as he was killed), but he was also the greatest wizard of all time!

Some of the best kicks in the ass I’ve had in sports and lifting have been negative criticism. Once your eyes are open to a problem you should want to fix it, not deny it exists and try to find people who ignore it as well.
