Hardcore lifter

Did I mention he does them 4 days a week - along with his shoulder presses with 5 lbers (literally) and 10 lber bicep curls?

This dude does everything extremely light. He’s yooung and in good shape. You’d think he’d bring his balls to the gym with him.

“More piiiiiieeee goddam it!!” - Eric Cartman

Hey man, I have to do my measly shoulder exercises 7 times a week, with 5 and 10 lb dumbbells, including shoulder presses. So shut the fuck up.

Justin is Wright (hehe, get the pun?)!

It’s about blood flow. The muscles of the RC have very poor blood supplies in comparison to the largest muscles of the shoulder girdle. Think of it as the smallest kid at the dinner table; they get whatever “food” is left over after the big boys are done eating. Additionally, the pendulum exercises have a similar effect as stretching (but less stressful), so it makes sense that they would do them daily.

Diesel- Give the guy a break. He’s probably laughing at you, too (just like the rest of us).

diesel, you spend alot of time looking at other trainees in the gym. Hopefully it isn’t during a time where you should be paying attention to a client.

“Did I mention he does them 4 days a week - along with his shoulder presses with 5 lbers (literally) and 10 lber bicep curls? This dude does everything extremely light. He’s yooung and in good shape.” last post.

Lied in the first post according to your last post. And if he is “young and in shape” who cares what he does, it obviously works for him.

Bung Hole (sorry love calling people that)

Diesel - Having just gone through shoulder surgery, I have to agree with some of the other posters. Before surgery, I had some pretty decent lifts; post surgery, they didn’t even want me to curl 2 pounds. Despite the fact that I still look like I am in shape, I am just starting to get back into the swing of things and am forced to use very light weights (based on my historical norms). And, yes, I have to do these exercises many times a week. It is going to take some time to get back to where I was, but I will do it. It is quite possible that this kid in your gym is going through the same process. Who knows, when he’s rehabbed, he’ll probably put you to shame.

Here’s the lesson - just cause you think you know it all, doesn’t mean you do. Just cause people are doing things differently than you, does not mean they are doing something wrong (just ask Coach Davies). Try to take the time to figure out why they are doing what they are doing before jumping to conclusions.

It’s funny how Diesel made a big ass deal about becoming a PT and how it was such a bad thing. Now he just makes fun of everyone at the gym. Get your head out of the books you claim to read and do some real research.

You’re the king of idiots. Listen to the smart people talk about shoulder problems. Obviously you have very little understanding about such issues. Listen to Eric, even if he has to talk very slow to you.

Coming back from shouldr surgery is very difficult. Rehab cannot be rushed. 5 lb dumbells might be he is allowed to do at the moment. As for the curls, the biceps region is important in shoulder stabilization.

You must practice hard to sound this stupid. Take over guys, I’m outta here!

Irondoc, dont you have some skinny malaysians to heal?

What a witty comeback that was Diesel.

Why don’t you address the criticisms?

…and this week’s “Tool of the Week” goes to…

Couldn’t resist jumping in to this discussion. I have worked as an LPTA for the last 5 years and daily work with shoulder injuries. I actually just go back from a cont. ed course dealing specifically with shoulders. If the guy is rehabbing on his own, then it would make perfect sense that he is using light wt, high rep movements, some of which may look kind of weird vs. regualr wt. training. rotator cuff muscles tend to respond better to strength endurance type work vs. heavier wts. The only thing I would differ with on the previous posts is that codman’s pendulum exs are typically passive movements, so if guy was standing with arms in flexion or ABD, then he was probably doing a different exercise.
