thanks sen say.
I began watching RUM from POWERLIFTING WATCH and lifting at the same time. I was highly inspired to lift while watching Dan Green deadlift 827 lbs and others lifting huge weights. Today went well after a day of rest:
T-Handle Swings:
100 lbs x 20 sets x 25 reps(Done btwn lifting sets)
Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5
505 x 1
Close Grip Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
255 x 1
271 x 1
Trap Bar Deadlifts:
230 x 5
320 x 3
410 x 1
500 x 1
The heavy sets of deads were exhausting because combining them with the swings was all out gruesome, harsh intensity. I was so happy to finish my 20th set of swings after my last deadlift to complete the lifting day.
Missed yesterday entirely due to 7 year anniversary of my first date with my wife, kids, and virtual class. I did 500 swings on Sunday and today has been a whirlwind of work, lifting, pool maintenance, and in a few minutes virtual school. Managed lifting and a few swings today as well.
T-Handle Swings:
100 lbs x 12 sets x 25 swings (Have to find a way to do 8 more sets before sleep to keep on schedule)
Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5
506 x 1
Fat Gripz Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
260 x 1
I don’t know why but today my chest and arms fatigued completely(most likely due to Saturday and tons of swings btwn sets w/out much rest) so I couldn’t go heavier on the bench which was way under my usual strength level. Oh well there’s tomorrow.
Steady wins the race. I had some weird arm muscle soreness right before this flu thing going on this week.
Another crazy work day and school tonight. Barely had time to get some lifting in. I lifted right after getting home from work so no shower yet today but school is done so it’s time to get the stink off.
T-Handle Swings:
100 lbs x 100 swings (between sets)
Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5
507 x 1(ATG-Belt-RAW)
Fat Gripz Close Grip Bench:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
260 x 1
265 x 1
This was a rushed 40 min lifting session. My chest, shoulders, and arms felt better than yesterday and the weight moved well. Not swinging as much could have helped but I was surprised because I did so much work today and only got about 5 1/2 hours of sleep last night. Going to try for seven hours of sleep tonight and get back on schedule.
What’s your best safety bar squat ever?
chobbs-I want to say 525 is my best safety bar squat but I have to review my records.

That’s insane…I hit a PR and was feeling good about myself and was trying to remember to post it in my log but then I remembered you went on a SSB surge a while back and were consistently hitting 4+ lol
chobbs-I hope you’re always feeling good about hitting a PR. And remember your PR is yours so post it while another persons PR will be much smaller than yours and you will inspire someone.
On another note my 10,000 swings challenge has to come to a stop because I am doing to many things at once right now and I can’t keep up. I have my lawn business, going to school at night, powerlifting training, and family(household) so including the 500 swings a day with the 100 lbs T-Handle is just too much. I have to eliminate the swings to give me more time and less physical stress. I will do the 10.000 swings challenge again after my next powerlifting meet at the end of April. The plans of mice and men often go astray…
Sorry to be cluttering up your log, but I have a small lawn business as well. What do you mow with?

Giving up the 10,000 swing challenge sounds like a good idea. As heavy and frequently as you lift along with physical work day, it was bound to lead to either burn out or injury. I can’t believe you kept at it as long as you did.
chobbs-I have a 36 inch Hustler Fasttrac, a 36" Wright Stander, and a small Toro for getting behind small fences. Most of my small equipment is Stihl.
Yeah Dave it’s been brutal. Thanks.
Tonight’s lifting was nice because we are having a cold blast all the way down to 41 degrees tomorrow morning and it was about 58 degrees while I was lifting. That’s nice lifting weather in my garage.
T-Handle Swings:
100 lbs x 130 reps total(btwn lifting sets)
Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5
507 1/2 lbs x 1(Didn’t feel like pressing any higher today)
Close Grip Floor Presses:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
255 x 1
260 x 1
I was going to do abs but completely forgot and put all my equipment away so doing any more training was a no go. The weight moved nicely and hopefully tonight I will get a little more sleep so tomorrow could be even better. I almost got 7 hours last night.
Strong as always. Again, those swings are just crazy. Much respect.
Thanks Crippler.
You think 41 degrees is a cold snap? Trade you our snow and ice.
Well it was cold for here but I know it’s nothing compared to up north. Training was extremely fast tonight. I was very fortunate to do face pulls with the new rope my wife got me for Valentine’s Day.
T-Handle Swings:
100 lbs x 130 reps(btwn lifting sets)
Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5
509 lbs x 1
Floor Presses:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
265 x 1
Standing Crunches(Using my new rope):
60 lbs x 20(Have to adjust my poundage using the rope because it’s greatly different than using the ez bar)
All moved well this afternoon. I’m almost finished with 50 days on arachidonic acid and I have to say I have made strength gains. I think I will take a couple of months of the arachidonic acid and then do another 50 days. I am thinking of trying the PA they sell on this site but it’s so expensive like everything else they sell. I’m going to try getting my phosphatidic acid from lecithin granules like old time lifters did first and I will be using Alpha-GPC for the coming months to see what kind of gains I will make. I’ve used the Alpha-GPC before and had good results but my dosage was too low however this time I will be upping the dosage. According to research Alpha-GPC taken at the right dosage with aggressive training should result in a 10% strength increase so I’m stoked to give it a try. I will also be supplementing with TMG, also proven to aid in increasing exercise stamina and possibly strength. My endurance seems to be greatly increase and recovery is shortened when I take TMG. Then there are the staple supplements I take like cittruline malate, arginine, beta alanine, lysine, etc. for training that really have helped me for years.
That’s a great sup overview GV. I just take in a few grams of basic protein and a multi once a day. I think I might be missing out on some easy strength gains.
Virtual class? What are you studying?
OP-I do take other supplements and I stay all natural or at least no PED or prohormones. I notice when I don’t take my supplements and they really help me to have better performance. That said it is most necessary to say that lifting and diet are first in importance with the supplements being a very important addition.
sen say-I am doing a virtual class to become a support professional contractor for Carnival Cruise lines. I will begin work in March. My class is online 4 hours, 5 nights a week, and there is homework. The requirements are fairly strict to pass the class with verbal and information skills. I am doing this work because I am able to schedule my own hours which will coincide with my business, family, lifting, etc. I will work at home using my computer and a dedicated phone line. In the future I will most likely take on another client or two to increase hours of work when the slow season come around October for Carnival.
