Hardcore Essentials

Thanks Dave. Sometimes I have some discomfort or tightness in the hips and hammies but the swings loosen me up and once the bar has over 300 lbs on it I forget about the pain and dig in for weight. Afterwards the hurt sets in but mobility work usually works out the difference.

Tonight went well:

T-Handle Swings:
100 x 2 x 20

Squats:(RAW!)
135 x 10
225 x 5
335 x 5
505 x 1(ATG-3 sec. pause)

Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5

SlingShot Bench Press:
225 x 5
275 x 1
336 1/2 x 1

Standing OHP:
135 x 5
160 x 3
205 1/2 x 1

Standing Crunches:
80 lbs x 20

I was in the depths of a pause zone trench for the 505 squat but the power and drive felt good. I have to say my entire body is really feeling a change from the heavy daily pause squats and benching. I feel more solid and sturdy and definition in my muscle tone is improving as well as vascularity amongst other things. Me like. The bench felt heavy but I locked it out, OH Yeah!

Big work in here GV. Great job.

Excellent work GV! Big stuff in here as always

sen say- Thanks. Back To The Front is one of my favorite Metallica songs.[/quote]

I usually got with Metallica when I’m in need of psyching up…I’ll take One or Hero of The Day along with Back to the Front.

Yes, Metallica sets the mind for me whenever I lift.

Tonight went well.

T-Handle Swings:
100 x 2 x 20

Squats:(RAW!)
135 x 10
225 x 5
335 x 5
506 x 1(ATG-3 sec. pause)

Floor Presses:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
255 x 1
283 1/2 x 1

Sumo Deadlift:
225 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 1
500 x 1

After one day of rest the 506 lbs pause squat was easy. I might jump to 510 when I come back after next weeks easy lifting.

Nice work GV. Youre an animal!

Thanks confusion.

506 pound squat, followed by a 500 pound dl is a full day indeed.

Thanks Crippler. I was paying for my insolence in lifting so much in under an hour this morning with lead filled concrete weighing down my body as I awakened too early(only got about 7 hours of sleep) in my opinion. But, after a couple hours of MARC PRO I feel a lot better and having my Dolphins win helped too. Watching football while doing therapy is great!

Completely wasted from work today. I’m not able to lift tonight most likely due to extreme DOMS due to Saturday’s lifting and today’s extremely labor intensive tree cutting and trimming. Tomorrow’s another day and this is light and easy week any way.

great idea to take the night off. relax your mind as well

Sometimes it’s not to hard to listen to your body. Good idea not to push it with heavy DOMS and falling trees.
Eat, sleep and you’ll be happy in gym later.
Nice work GV

Thanks fellas.

500+ on both squat and DL on the same day is freaking imressive. Thats got to build confidence for meet day.

Yeah Joe, just getting used to lifting in the 500’s on a regular basis, maybe in a year it’ll be the 600’s.

Tonight lifting was fast and easy although my body is wrecked from another very hard day at work and tomorrow is looking harsh as well. It’s been in the 80s here temperature wise, which has made for unusually hot working conditions for this time of year. I want some cold.

T-Handle Swings:
100 x 2 x 20

Squats:(All squats ATG and RAW!)
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5

Close Grip Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
205 x 5

Standing OHP:
135 x 3 x 5

Standing Crunches:
80 lbs x 20

Light week is working nice with heavy labor days.

Feeling really run-down tonight. My 3 year old brought home a virus last Friday and I have been fighting it until today. Today the bug finally is trying to infect me but I’m attacking it with everything I have(mostly garlic, zinc, vitamin C). Hope to get back to training soon.

That’s one of the things kids are good for, bringing home bugs. I’ve had my share. Good luck with that.

Get better GV. Kids are always bringing home something.
I use to schedule sick time when school started. Never failed

It’s a seesaw batte(no pun intended) with this virus. Sometimes I think I’m winning a feel great and then at other times it feels like a steamroller has flattened me. Getting sick makes me mad and I hate to see my child in agony. Now my wife is feeling the virus. Will this never end? The challenge is not getting the baby sick.

Still feeling a sore throat and achy muscles related to virus but I made myself lift tonight. My thinking has been less than clear and I thought my strength was up to par but I found out the bug has caused me to be a bit weak.

T-Handle Swings:
100 x 2 x 20

Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
335 x 5
500 x 3(Belt used)

Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1
255 x 1

Just doing this little bit had me dizzy and my back was aching terribly but I got some in. I haven’t had the energy to visit any other threads right now and I’m training for a virtual job from home to do in my spare time. My girls are all being hit by the virus. Damn it I can’t wait for this bug to go.
