Hardcore Essentials

Thanks Matty and corrmhona. I wasn’t able to lift because I needed to help take care of a couple of babies and my kids. Looks like I have a forced break from lifting until next Tuesday. I think the hardest thing for me the next three days will be not lifting. I am going to work this morning, which will be physical, and then off to the surgeon and I get some light medicine to deal with the pain. I hope they let me watch the operation because I like to see that kind of thing. What a bunch of coconuts!

Think of positives…maybe you could complain of pain and anxiety and they could give you some mix of hydros and zanex

I got to watch both of mine. Didn’t video that either. Good luck and may the ice be with you.

GV, sorry to hear about the situation man. My family had to deal with it at the end of 07. It’s a difficult thing for families to cope with, regardless if it’s followed through with or not.

Also, you’re a crazy mofo for wanting to watch. I had to pop a blister yesterday and almost passed out. And you want to watch the snipping… again, crazy!

On the upside, it looks like your lifting has been going really well man. I’m glad to see it!

Best of luck GV. I’m sorry for your family. God bless. As for your training, as I said think of it as a positive. A good deload might be exactly what you need.

A thanks to everyone for being so supportive. The day after the snipping has been filled with activity with family and toddlers. I’m supposed to be resting but not much of that is happening. I only took one pain pill after the operation and I’m not taking any more because I hate the sluggishness and heavy feeling my body has for so long afterwards. Besides, the pain is minimal especially in comparison to the cuts I get from tree spikes, stinging bugs, torn muscles, and the stress of heavy physical training. One becomes inured to a little snip and needle prick even if it is in the man sack. I’m just being careful to avoid swelling and using my ice bag intermittently.

See it’s already is swelling and no one to take care of it but you…situation is back to normal!

Family stress is always a clusterfuck of emotions, keep your head up and keep moving forward.

Rick

Glad the operation went well GV and sorry to hear about the family stress.

Thanks Rick and Dave. Yeah, I’m attempting and succeeding for the most part in keeping the roiling emotions surrounding me in a state of calmness by giving as much support to family members as possible. I’m a little bit removed from the person that committed suicide but the family he affected the most are very close. It’s my position to be stable and help influence things that way. I think by Wednesday I will be lifting again but that is driving me bat-nuts(no pun intended).

Back to work today. Very hot and physical as usual but having the operation still a bit fresh gave me a little extra challenge today. I normally move very quickly and go for hour at a strong pace but work went a little slower today. It’s killing me that I am not supposed to lift until Friday but I have to be safe. Arg…

Priorities. You are babying your nutsack, it is something you need, not like a hamstring or a spine or something… (I wish I wasn’t serious when I said that)

Very hot working conditions and maybe the lack of doing any lifting this week have contributed to me losing a couple more pounds. I’m down to 202.6 lbs bodyweight and feeling very tight and sort of ripped. My strength feels good and I will begin to lift large starting Friday if the Doc gives me the okay. My diet has been a lot of high protein, vegis, fruits, and low carbs but I will have to increase the carbs when I resume lifting. I’d like to put on a couple or few pounds of solid muscle the next month or so and work towards a possible powerlifting meet in the beginning of November.

Wow, lot’s going on GV. 202 is freaking light for how strong you are. You must really crush your competitors in the 198 class.

Well, Jack I don’t know If I will compete in the 198 class yet. I’m not sure I will keep the weight off once I start lifting again and eating more but it would be good to come in lighter and be just as strong.

Here to hoping the Dr. gives you a green light!

Had to cancel my doctor appointment today due to a dangerous thunderstorm but I don’t care. My bouncing boys seem to be just fine so I’m going to start lifting. I’ll be cautious but considering I have been doing very physical work all week I believe…screw it…I’m going to lift!

That a boy! I say you’re good. If that counts for anything…

x2. Time to get back at it!

Go forth and lift sir

A thanks to everyone for the encouragement. Today is my father in law’s funeral and I’m trying to get some lifting in before the event plus I have to clean up a huge pile of thorny plants I trimmed in the yard a couple days ago. Life is busy and tons of fun.
