Hard Time Losing Weight on TRT

Hi everyone,
Been reading through the forums for a while and just registered . And I would appreciate any sound advise and opinions .
So …….
Been on trt alone for 5 months. Doses have been up and down from 250 mg a week in the beginning all the way down to 80 mg a week.

I added hcg in the last 2 months . So trt alone 5 months. Trt and hcg 2 months. I have been dialed in for about a month. Pretty much smooth sailing .

I believe I have Klinefelter syndrome. I had gyno when I was young. Had surgery back then. I haven’t been diagnosed but 99 percent sure .

Now when I started trt I gained a lot of water weight on my stomach and legs and face. My diet is strict, my gym routine is strict with lots of cardio. But I’m finding it really hard to lose weight.

My weight is 119kg height 6.3

So now I’m thinking what do I do .

Options running through my head are

  1. increase trt dose. - but when I do this I hate the side effects of moon face , and water retention and acne

  2. use Anavar - I really didn’t want to do this but is this a viable option ? I’m mainly using trt because of my depression . I don’t want this to be affected as I have been suicidal many times.

  3. a fat burner like a Eca stack or Phedra cut. - I don’t have a clue on how to get a Eca stack in the uk.

4)continue doing what I’m doing .

I really need to lose weight because it effects my energy levels on trt. So energy is very important to me. However I’m also looking at the safety profile of everything . I don’t just jump in to things .

So advise from you guys will hopefully help me decide.

And this is a great community forum !

Not enough information. Be very very very specific. What do you eat every day? Lay it out hour by hour. If you don’t know… here is your first problem. What when and how do you exercise? Again be very specific. Day of the week, time, exercises, sets, reps, weight etc. Yes this is a lot of info to provide, it will take you more than a few minutes to write down. Do it! Help us help you.

These are not weight loss options. AAS build muscle, which will in turn raise metabolism a little, but it’s not going to give you the immediate impact you’re looking for, I don’t think.

What you’re describing is glycogen and water weight, which can be combated with an herbal diuretic or an ARB like Telmisartan. That shit dries me out instantly.

I’m having a hard time getting behind you being “dialed in” on TRT while you’ve only been on for 5 months and have presumably been on at least 3 different Test dosages, 2 of which are completely invalid to be considered TRT. 80mg is too low, 250mg is too high.

  • How often are you pinning Test and what is your current weekly dose?
  • What exactly have you eaten in the past 3 days? Quantity and nutritional value.
  • When is the last time you stepped on a scale?

Before assuming your weigt loss difficulties are hormonal, you really need to have some outside perspective on what you’re diet and exercise look like.

If you cannot answer these questions, then i would argue your weight loss issues have nothing to do with TRT or hormones

These are completely valid dosages should that particular person need them.
Plenty of people on very low doses and plenty of people on what we’d think sound high.

Why?

Are you a DIY TRT user or going to a doctor?

Cardio is great and all, but if you want to lose weight you need to lift weights. You’ll burn more calories weight lifting than you will just cardio. My dad was a jogger his entire life and was always skinny fat. Joggers tend to be skinny fat, skinny in the legs and arms and a have a belly.

One of the first thing guys usually mention in their threads is their protocol. You also have no labs indicating where your Total T and Free T currently sit, which tells me you’re only changing dosages and not checking to see where your levels are.

Total T by itself isn’t very useful, the Free T is where the rubber meets the road. Be sure to use the Equilibrium Dialysis or Ultrafiltration for the Free T and NOT the Direct Immunoassay.

Also some guys need to pin more frequently to get all the benefits to TRT, so weekly dosing isn’t going to work for everyone.

What other symptoms do you have that make you believe you have Kleinfelters Syndrome?

For certain, I would want to validate your self-diagnosis. IMO, see a medical professional person.

What do your blood tests look like?
Total Testosterone? When did you test relative to the last injection and how many milligrams?

Sure, but at 119kg i dont think 80mg/wk is sufficient to raise TT, likely just enough to shut you down while still experiencing low T symptoms. Also, 250mg/wk is likely too high for 99% of people to be considered medicinal.
Going to link a some threads:

Most people will fall into the category of 100mg-200mg/wk, and then be within supraphysiological range at trough. Additionally, OP said he has gone from 250mg to 80mg so i think its safe to assume he falls somewhere between the two, no? He hasn’t posted labs or current dosage either so calling me out for saying “80mg and 250mg are invalid doses” is a bit premature i think.

I wanted to point out that the ability to lose weight is also directly influenced by thyroid hormones, so TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 would be useful if you don’t I have any recent testing.

Sorry mate no blood works . Don’t mean to piss people of by creating a thread and not including mandatory information that you guys need to help.
But I have my reasons . I have read so many threads on this forum. Honestly if I did have it I’d place it right at the top. I personally can’t wait to let the professionals at the clinic decide on what I can and can’t do because this whole thing has been a massive headache of trial and error.
I understand that trt protocols are different to different individuals.
Also having blood work helps you identify your route or plan to get dialed in.

Apologies again

Everything on the symptom List, and more plus I have also considered my childhood issues and symptoms. And pretty much connected the dots . I have also had cancer and so many other health related issues. It seriously would be a long list. Surprised I’m still alive tbh.

  • Low sperm count or no sperm
  • Small testicles and penis
  • Low sex drive
  • Taller than average height
  • Weak bones
  • Decreased facial and body hair
  • Less muscular compared with other men
  • Enlarged breast tissue
  • Increased belly fat

These are just few of the symptoms . Theres more . Also had issues with adhd . Still have it in my adulthood but trt seems to be helping with with quite a bit.

I have had to many diagnoses . Honestly I hate doctors . I was antidepressants for 23 years . Since trt I just stopped them overnight .

Thanks for the response mate . I do have my days where I lift heavy weights and I am gaining muscle but mostly on my arms, forearms , bit in the chest and mostly legs. I wish my legs stopped growing muscle. Some will think I’m mad for saying that but it’s disproportionate. Doesn’t look right.

And my apologies I really can’t give any information on blood work cause I don’t have any. I can’t take the doctor route because I have addiction issues from the past and doctors will not leverage any sympathy to ex drug addicts .

And private at this point I cannot afford . I have read many posts on this forum and I understand the importance of blood work. At this point I don’t have it my apologies .

However I’m very close to getting enough money to go to a private clinic.

I just have to work with what I got right now. Some might say bad decision…… Fair enough . But I think I have saved myself from suicide due to my depression and trt is what helped. Of course it’s been hell , ups and downs for months. So easy to give up. But if I did I would have not had the stable 1 month after so many months of trying.

I pin daily subcutaneous. Started once a week to twice a week to daily. I have been stable since starting daily

D.I.Y mate, due to affordability issues

Thanks for the response.

I am self medicating . I can’t afford to go via the private clinic route at this point . However my intention is to, very soon.

I started at 250mg once a week. I had to many ups and downs. It’s been very hard following so many different opinions online, be it on the forums or you tube.
4 weeks after I split the dose into 2. Felt better but not great. Anxiety began slowly. Acne. Water retention . Moon face . So to cut a long story short I started all the way from 250mg and went lower and lower until I felt stable and felt right. So now I dose daily 80mg ~ over 7 days .

I eat similar everyday. Eggs , toast in the morning . Chicken or fish and vegetables at night . I am gaining muscle but not losing much weight .

Honestly last I stepped on a scale was 1 month ago

I think it is water weight mate. How was your experience shedding the water weight on the options you state ?

Thanks for the response mate.

I go to the gym about 5 times a week. My usual routine is an hour on the bike. And straight after that I do abs crunch, chest and arms. Sometimes the intensity of weights are low, sometimes high.

I change routine sometimes from bike to treadmill . On the treadmill I’d run for 2 minutes , walk for a minute , repeat for 10 minutes. Max I can do tbh.

Diet is more calorie restricted. I have boiled eggs in the morning , sometimes a peanut butter sandwich with honey . Drink water though out the day because I don’t feel hungry on hcg . Then eat in the evening. Evening meal is either chicken with vegetables or fish with vegetables.
Calorie intake per day isn’t more then a 1000.
On sundays I eat what I want but in proportion .

Ok you wanted hour by hour. It’s mostly the same everyday so I’ll do Monday .

Wake up at 5am
5.30 - coffee or green tea
6.30 - low intensity exercise - push ups, sit ups, little bit of boxing
7.30 eat boiled eggs or scrambled eggs cooked in olive oil. 1 toast - tea or coffee
10.00 work
So from this point I drink water - roughly 5-7 liters a day
1pm - gym , exercises above
2.30pm out the gym
4pm work till 8
8pm eat chicken or fish with vegetables sometimes potatoes
10-11 pm sleep

That’s my boring life on a daily basis

I do use pre work out sometimes when going gym or drink a can of monster

I appreciate the honesty; it is very hard to get dialed in without having labs. You’re on HCG now, are you trying to have kids? or are you taking this for something related to Klinefelter’s (no need to go into details if the latter is the case)?

Before turning to any new compound to lose weight, I think analyzing your diet and training would prove quite useful. I recommend doing daily weigh-ins and tracking weight first thing in the morning after AM piss. Judge your progress by weekly averages; if you see your weight go up, eat less - if you see it go down (about 1lb/wk) then you’re doing fine.

Losing weight can be done without the help of extra compounds and I think both your wallet and your health would appreciate you doing so ‘naturally’.

The herbal stuff was ‘meh’, but Telmisartan dried me up very quickly. In fact if I use it without having any water retention I just feel dry and achy all the time.
