Happy Marriages/Relationships

Yeah I know I was being facetious.
I always found it odd that Americans put so much importance into heritage. Italians, Polish, Irish, etc. Seems divisive to me.
I don’t really know any country that does that.

I mean, you never hear about Pope Francis being Italian, because, just like your husband, he isn’t, his parents / grandparents were.

Same with the president of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro, if he were POTUS they’d refer to him as the first Italian President.

I apologize, I didn’t mean to go off topic.

It seems to be a bit of a cultural thing in Latin European countries.

Bear in mind that you often see tree generations of a family living very close to each other ( if not in the same house) so that might be a factor.

I’m inclined to think of it as a food thing, heritage, where American caucasians are concerned, or at least those of us who are here because of the massive wave of immigration in the late 1800’s.

I’m half Irish, and frankly don’t have high expectations when I spend eating time with that part of my family.

Edit: I cross-posted with you. Yeah, my husband’s grandmother lived with him growing up, so they’re all about doing it her way.

Hahaha that’s exactly what I meant, everyone is aware of their heritage.

Maybe Asians and blacks are painted with a broader brush (I always hear Asian American or African American, but never European American) but whites are always half german quarter irish eight portuguese tenth french.

I never got that from, say, brazilians or argentinians. Not saying it’s bad or anything, just something I find curious.

Asians (until very recently) tended to create families almost exclusively other Asians- if not from the same region.

It doesn’t matter to me if a character is gay or a militant feminist so long as the show is good. If not, I know where the off switch to my TV is, lol. A lot of people seem to have trouble with just turning stuff off…

@greenboy did you read it?

Yes my friend I did and it’s a brilliant write up.

These four forces in tandem handed an unprecedented level of power to women. The technology gave them freedom to pursue careers and the freedom to be promiscuous. Feminist laws have done a remarkable job of shielding women from the consequences of their own actions. Women now have as close to a hypergamous utopia as has ever existed, where they can pursue alpha males while extracting subsidization from beta males without any reciprocal obligations to them. Despite all the new freedoms available to women that freed them from their traditional responsibilities, men were still expected to adhere to their traditional responsibilities.

But haven’t we touched upon almost every facet of what is being said by this author? And we got slapped around for it in here lol

Everyone in here that has ever argued with us should read it, because we will never be able to communicate our points as good as this so thanks for posting it (even though I don’t think anyone is going to take the time to actually read it)

EDIT:

I had to edit this in here. lol

…thanks to ‘feminism’, these women are proving to be poor pilots of their mating lives who pursue alpha males until the age of 34-36 when her desirability drops precipitously and not even beta males she used to reject are interested in her

it’s amazing how my own life observations can be mirrored in a write up like this. people think that your life experiences should’t factor into anything, it’s a weird thing I see a lot now with internet fights. it’s all about links and shit.

So you like your own flavor of confirmation bias as much as everybody else, you just don’t like other people’s favorite flavors of it.

Anybody else can identify with an opposing view and post a link just like Brick and you’d be crying “links and shit!”.

I admit I’m likely biased. I’m simply convinced of certain things though. As said I’m all for opposing views.

Me too. The world would be a boring place without them.

I even like the “I know a guy…” or “I’ve seen a thing…” use of vignettes to support an individual position.

It just gets wonky when “I know a guy…” turns into “Women these days…!” and someone tries to define half the population of a continent based on the actions of a few people.

My brother had his life turned upside down and all the money shaken out by a woman from Chile, but you won’t hear me saying “All those south American women…”.

It’s about what I expected. I got through it on lunch. The tone is pretty consistent, so that’s a plus. I actually really like how he set the tone so hard in the open.

Why does it seem that American society is in decline, that fairness and decorum are receding, that mediocrity and tyranny are becoming malignant despite the majority of the public being averse to such philosophies, yet the true root cause seems elusive? What if everything from unsustainable health care and social security costs, to stagnant wages and rising crime, to crumbling infrastructure and metastasizing socialism, to the economic decline of major US cities like Detroit, Cleveland, and Baltimore, could all be traced to a common origin that is extremely pervasive yet is all but absent from the national dialog, indeed from the dialog of the entire Western world?

Today, on the first day of the new decade of ‘201x’ years, I am going to tell you why that is. I am hereby triggering the national dialog on what the foremost challenge for the United States will be in this decade, which is the ultimate root cause of most of the other problems we appear to be struggling with. What you are about to read is the equivalent of someone in 1997 describing the expected forces governing the War on Terror from 2001-2009 in profound detail.

I was hoping for more from the stats, but I’m a data nerd. Admittedly, I skimmed the horsemen part and the why should you care part.

This part got me though.

Edit: There’s actually a recent article there as well. I’ll make my way through it in a bit after dinner.

On the second charge of being a ‘loser who cannot get laid’, any observation of the real world quickly makes it obvious that men who have had little experience with women are the ones placing women on pedestals, while those men who have had substantial sexual experience with women are not. Having sex with a large number of women does not increase respect for women, which is the exact opposite of the claim that ‘feminists’ make.

I’ve said as much in here 100 times and no one seems to get this lol.

One glaring example of misandry backfiring is in the destruction of marriage and corresponding push of the ‘Sex in the City/cougar’ fantasy. Monogamous marriage not only masked the gap between ‘alpha’ and ‘beta’ men, but also masked the gap between attractiveness of women before and after their Wile E. Coyote moment. By seducing women with the myth that a promiscuous single life after the age of 35 is a worthy goal, many women in their late 30s are left to find that they command far less male attention than women just a decade younger than them. ‘Feminism’ sold them a moral code entirely unsuited to their physical and mental realities, causing great sadness to these women.

and this lol

wasn’t;'t it you skyz that kept bringing up the cougar thing? I don’t think I even commented because I was thinking “who the fuck wants a cougar instead of someone 10 years younger” hahahahah

well…

As discussed previously, any legitimate and polite questions about the fairness of anti-male realities in the legal system and media are quickly met with Pavlovian retorts of ‘misogynist’ and ‘loser’.

isn’t this what happened to me in here? immediately labeled ‘incel’ upon voicing my opinion.

Obviously bro, but then if you notice about 10+ of your friends all going through the same thing you may be more inclined to start thinking it. yeah?

I don’t think you need me to affirm your victim status do you? :joy:

No. I’d think my friends were idiots for shacking up with street rats. Leave those Chilean bitches to the dogs!

Edit: For real though, did it ever occur to you that your friends might be a bunch of dicks?

J/k. Her sister was actually pretty nice. Working some guy from New York for a green card at the time, but we got along just fine.

It’s pretty funny how he has Bill Cosby as a masculine father figure, lol…

@BrickHead

(As I mentioned before wrt over-stating the importance of the male/female thing.)

^^^That passage is simply “familiarity breeds contempt”, which is literally a cliche, because it applies to just about anything.

I’m a fan of the more primal/basic motives as “explanations” for behavior in society -power & money. As Scarface said: first you get’a the power, then the money, then the women. The pieces, the “narrative”, may change but the game doesn’t. That’s my .02.

really man? so the guy that wrote this has the same friends as I do? do you really not see any bit of truth in any of this? because I sure as hell see a lot of it. it doesn’t mean I’m going to subscribe to a world Is doomed doctrine, but fuck me if I don’t notice a lot of it happening around me.

it is funny, wonder if he noticed that or not, but still it’s about the characters they portrayed not the man himself

I haven’t read the article @BrickHead but I plan too next week (I just kinda skimmed it).

Anyway, as far as I can tell men only have what I consider two real gripes in modern society.

  1. Their offspring can be killed against their wishes and/or (if you support abortion being legal) men can be forced to financially support a person they don’t want. My feelings aside, it’s an issue that men have no say here, imo.

  2. They get fuuuuucked in divorce.

The other stuff, who suffered more through history, masculinity in entertainment, etc… just seems so petty and unimportant to me.

Just my $0.02
