My wife is interested in “permanent” bikini hair removal. We’ve looked online and have found that nothing is permanent. Apparently laser doesn’t work well on darker skin( she’s latin.) The best we can figure is waxing and shaving are the two best options. Why doesn’t laser work on dark skin? I saw a Braun Silk-Epil Super soft thing that’s supposed to work well to semi-permanaantly remove hair(according to Braun.) I checked the search on T-Mag and it mostly related to guys. Any advice? Thanks
Electroalysis works even though it takes quite a while. Eventually the hair stops growing after repeated treatments.
I had laser hair removal on my back and shoulders for various patches, and I had to do it during the winter months when I wasn’t tan. For some reason, the laser works in regards to light pigment. It only works on people with darker hair. Darker skin absorbs too much of the laser, thus making it less effective. I had it done once when I was tan, and it hurt more than any other time. So your best bet is to be as white as a ghost and have dark hair. Then you will reap the benefits. Beware that this method does require many visits. At first, they promised three or four visits. I had eight visits and could still use a couple more to get the remaining little patches. And it is also expensive. The next best thing would probably be waxing. Shaving is easy and cheap, but it has to be done too often. I recently shaved my chest because my girlfriend prefers it that way. Unfortunatley, it tears me up badly, and I get many ingrown hairs. I’ve decided to just have it waxed for now on. And hopefully, each time will cause it to grow back less and thinner. At least that’s what most people say they experience with waxing.

You have got to be kidding, shaving your chest. Next thing, you’ll want to grow breasts.
testtosterone=chest hair
miko, there are many diff lasers, i suggest researching them and find oen that is right for her. Some arent effected by skin color as bad.
I’m a hairy bastard, but it does look nice shaved down. It’s just a real pain in the ass to do. And my girlfriend prefers it shaved, as she hates chest hair. If chest hair=testosterone, then I have more “T” than 95% of the population. Trust me, if I could have been less hairy, I would be much happier. As for growing breasts, I already have a nice set of pecs, why would I want droopy boobies? LOL!
Being athletic and hairy is very uncomfortable in my opinion. Plus, women my age (early/mid twenties) hate chest hair. They say; "Body hair went out with Tom Selleck(sp?). Or simply that; “Hairy guys are gross, would you want a hairy woman?”
Deep Thoughts “Hair and You”: Ok a few thoughts - For some reason hairy chests went out with Tom Selleck, strange really since gorilla level body hair (like me) usually means high T… Anyway, I use a combo of NAIR and plain old shaving - it sucks bad. Anybody ever try some of these Hair no more products like EF plugs? I’m tired of shaving my hair ass but I do get better reviews - for example: For the hell of it I put myself on Hot or Not (a stupid web site to rate men/women on how good they look) - Got a 7.8 with hair (showed waist up) and a 9.2 without hair!!
Lasers - although I do not use lasers in the medical field I would like to tell you a little about lasers. Lasers (Light Amplification thru Stimulated Emmision of Radiation)is nothing more than light but monochromatic (single frequency able to focus to extremely small spot size). Imagine a wall that is say, blue. When light hits it it is absorbed, transmitted or reflected. If half of a wall is concrete and half is brick doesn’t matter because its the color that determines the reflectivity or absorption. In this light (no pun) the darker skin will absorb the Laser light much more making it less able to distinguish the difference between the hair and skin making this a dangerous method of hair removeal. Switching the type of laser will only change the wavelength and absorption characteristics of the laser but it still will not be able to distinguish the difference in hair vs. skin. I weld 1/4" steel with ND:YAG lasers and principal is the same.
i put up my pic on hotornot last year. 9.8 with the first pic. The second pic I got a 8.6. The difference? Nothing. Exactly the same picture. Just felt like disproving your example. ![]()
