Does anyone get pimple like bumps on their chests, arms, etc after shaving or waxing??? I usually use that rotating machine that pulls the hair by the root and then shave the little hairs away. I moisturize, exfoliate and still get these shitty littles bumps sometimes. And i hate just shaving because its still rough after and feels like it burns all the time when you’re lying around. I might as well have a hairy chest than a bumpy one. How does everyone else remove body hair?
I get ingrown hairs and sometimes those “pimple-like bumps” just from trimming my bodyhair very short. I’ve begun to stop trimming. I’m a hairy bastard, and I’m just gonna let it grow. I’ll keep my chest somewhat trimmed, and I’ll always keep my pubes trimmed and my armpits shaved. But other than that, no more shaving or super-short trimming!
Nate thanks for your input! Whats with everyone else though? Hope people here arent shy about body hair? These pimple/bump things after hair removal are annoying!!!
i used to get them after ‘bikini’ waxing. a freind of mine is a stripper and she said the best way to avoid the problem is use VERY hot water when shaving/waxing. that never worked for me, but you might give it a try
I had an awful time with the pimples. I finally had it ‘lasered’ off on my back, chest, and under my arms. It has taken several months and about 5 visits, but it great now. And my wife can’t keep her hands, etc. off my nipples…it cost about 500 per two hour session, but it was worth every penny…she(my wife)has gone and had her bikini area done, her armpits, and now wants her legs done. It is permanent and relatively painless.
I use hair clippers with a 3/4 inch gaurd, use it all over so my body hair is the same length (except my arms). I did the shaving thing and hated those bumps. (btw-those bumps are trauma to your skin) If you have the money, go for laser removal. Personally, I can’t afford that.
ahhhh, some others living in my hairy hell. i have seriously sensative skin, and problems w/ foliculitis(infected hair follicles), so shaving is out of the friggin question. i am so damn hairy, even my shoulders are hairy. its nasty as hell, but since i have such lousy skin, i cant use any means of removal. always w/ the ingrown hairs and inflamed follicles(bumps) and other such crap. it sucks royally… i usually just trim it up best as possible. anybody ever try thos hair inhibitor creams/sprays? and Rick, how long has it been since the laser, and has any grown back? thanks.
Rick, is it really permanent, have you done research on this or did the people there just told you? How “productive” is a 2 hour visit? How much hair do they take out?
Thanks
I’ve had 3-4 treatments on my chest. The first was the longest and the most difficult. It is permanent. I had some pimples come up after the treatment and they have left some minor scarring. She said that I was the worst case she had ever had. The last one was a couple of weeks ago and it was a piece of cake. All that’s left now are little very fine hairs that I can shave off every couple of weeks. I’ve also done my underarms (piece of cake), my back and torso. Now alll I got to do is get that bf% down to see that six pack…I was very hairy and now am loving that smoothness…I went to a dermatologist and had laser…there are some that are not laser, be careful about that. It works better when your skin is white and your hairs are dark…ie…I had to stay out of the sun for a while…hope that helps
Laser hair removal is usually permanent. But it takes many more visits than you may think. I’ve had it on my back and shoulders for various patches that I had. I’ve had about 8 visits. And I really need one or two more to get the rest that has grown back. It can be pricey, but I got a good deal when I did it. And I can go back anytime to have it done again. I just haven’t had the time or money to do so. I can’t stand to see any hairs on my back or shoulders. So it drives me crazy!
There is a product called ‘TendSkin’. It is meant to stop those bumps as well as ingrown hair. And it really works amazingly- I use it on my bikini waxes and my husband uses it for his face and there has never been a ‘problem’ since. We got a hold of it through a higher end hairdresser. But I would think most spa’s would know of it. Ask around but that is the product name. And well worth it.
Laser is perminant, though expensive. I don’t know about all these people saying it didn’t hurt though. I had my bikini line done and it was excruciating. If it hurts, ask for a perscription for Emla - it’s a numbing cream - it works wonders. I’ve been 5 times and have very little regrowth.
What’s a bikini area? <:-)
