Been lifting serious (diet+training) since September of this year. I made newb gains of 8 lbs muscle, up to around 140. I’m 5’7", still scrawny. I’ve gained one inch on my arms in that time frame, and now looking to get even better results in the future. My goal is to be around 160-165 lean in 1.5 years. So I’m looking at a new program and supplement. Diet will be same, as I’ve been seeing growth on it. It’s clean foods, lots of. Also, I’m 18.
Supplements:
Surge Recovery Shake
Low-Carb Metabolic Drive Protein Shake
Flameout
Alpha Male
Biotest Superfood
BCAA Tablets
Metabolic Drive Bars (something to chew on between classes at college)
What are your opinions of this plan, and I hope to be up to 145, 150 by my one year mark, September '08, lean.
I’ve noticed taht even though I’ve gained muscle, my weight went up from 132 to 140 while decreasing fat and putting on muscle. I was hoping to continue this (even though I am eating a lot, and have been) so that I can continue to maintain leanness and increase muscle. I am eating a lot of food, 5x a day, and have gained muscle, so I know I’m eating enough.
also, if you recommend those supplements, when should I be taking them?
-if it helps, I’m a former fat boy, at 180lbs (all fat) when I was 17. I dropped all that, got skinny down to 130, and essentially had a clean slate. I don’t seem to have a problem with keeping the fat off.
It’ll gonna be quite expensive maintaining the recomended dose of all those supplement without it draining your wallet.
But hey…if you’ve got the money, go for it
I would make sure you always use Surge, Flameout, and the Metabolic Drive on you. Those should be staple supplements…not something you just use for a set period of time.
Plan according to your budget…don’t get caught out of money to buy your staple supplements becuase you bought Alpha Male or BCAA’s.
Don’t get me wrong bcaa’s have their place but they aren’t cheep.
Oh yea…you mention “you know your eating enough food becuase you’ve already gained weight” well that’s good becuase you were probably only eating 3 meals a day in the first place and got beginners gains.
If you wana keep these steady gains comin…try to get atleast 6 meals in a day, no more than 3 hours apart. Check out some beginners articles that discuss eating.
Try and absorb as much information from these articles as you can…
yeah i’ve been following this site for months. i’ve been taking the 6x meals, roughly 3 hours apart (i got classes that are 3 hrs long etc), and i’ve been following it by the rulebook. for eating i’ve checked thib’s article on nutrition for newbs, part 1+2, as well as Shugart’s.
