Gut Rehab?

I’ve posted I think once here in the past, have been a fan and reader for many years though.

So anyhow, I took a break from everything- the gym, my career (competitive dance)- and during that time obviously let the diet slip and consumed a more than necessary amount of alcohol.
I’ve cut off all my bad habits over 2 months ago and have picked back up all the good ones and feeling stronger than ever before- dipping from 15.24% b.f to 9.06% in that time, ideally will be 7 soon enough- and almost in as good shape except for one thing. I have a very powerful set of abs/obliques etc, but if I’m relaxed my gut just ends up flopping out. This is naturally a problem for dance as we need our core tight and collected to make ease for movement. In the past I was not so concerned with such things as my priorities weren’t as well set, but it also wasn’t as big of an issue before, no pun intended, heh.

Anyhow, I’ve mostly aside of my regular work outs with my trainer have been working on some basic TVA strengthening and core exercises. Anyone know if I’m target the right area fix this or am I way off…
