Guidance For A Youngin

I’ve been lifting weights for about 2 years now on and off. I’m getting tired of weighing above 200 and not having the defined body i want. I’m 16 now and wanna try and get my body weight down to 190 atleast and get stronger at squats etc. I’d like to imagine i could get this done in about 2 months. Any advice you guys have i’d like too hear. thanks

Height = 6 ft
Bench = 265
squat = 295
deadlift = 370
curl = 125

I’m going to make a guess and ask you how disciplined you are with respect to nutrition?

With the numbers you’ve posted you obviously have some LBM which should make it fairly easy to lean down with proper nutrition.

Look for nutritional articles by Dr John Berardi and Dr Lonnie Lowery. Damn that’s cool… we’ve got some smart folks giving us the info we need!

Start with simpler stuff such as the seven habits. Then look into the T-Dawg diet while you are putting those habits into practice.

Maybe somebody will be kind enough to link to the articles for you, but some searching should dig them out.

Concerning nutrition follow Vroom’s advice.
Concerning training, in the section “Article Library” click “Authors”.
I recommend 4 programs:

Waterbury Next big three

All these programs are designed to help you loosing the fat keeping the muscles.

Pick up one of them and try to not change anything.

I would just like to say that you are not going to get where you want with this. “on and off” for a couple years thing, with either diet or training. It is all about your being consistant. Adobting solid nutrition and a love for training into a LIFE style.

This is just the surface of all the GREAT info. on diets. Still do a search for any and everything by LL and JB.

As for training. READ UP. All the coaches here have MANY great programs that all have a place. Pick one that catches your eye and fits your goals at the time and go for it. Follow it through to completion, then pick another, rinse and repeat.
