I got into it right as Lee Haney won his first Olympia.

Then, you had Rich Gaspari, Mike Christian, Mohammed Makkawy, Bob Paris, Tom Platz… with Gary Stydom and Matt Mendehall were the favoites to win the Nationals. Mendenhall never lived up to his ‘potential’.
