Got sick for 2 weeks, lost considerable amount of size help?!?

Hey guys, 34M here and just got sick for 2ish weeks.

Diet wasent to bad but was probably around 800-1000

calories a day va normal 3500

Was weighting in around 199 pounds and left at 180.

So cut about 20 pounds and feeling small. Any insight what to do to regain and out back on the mass,?

Assume need to get back into the gym slowly and take my time. Appriciate everyone’s help and input, as I am very depressed currently and not happy about it

Will muscle memory come into play? Regain is quicker Then simply gaining?

Help and ty

It’s impossible to lose 20 pounds of muscle in 2 weeks, even if bedridden. Don’t panic. It’s mostly body water, muscle glycogen, and some fat, maybe a smidge of muscle. Just do your normal thing.

Understand… my fullness has just disappeared and I’m super depressed tbh:( all my shirts are to big, and I keep telling myself this to shall pass :frowning:

You should sell your Fat Loss Secrets ebook!

But ditto to what @Chris_Shugart said: 2 weeks is not meaningful if you’re doing things right the other 50.

Eat sushi, drink some electrolytes and go pound a workout. You’ll feel full again.

I’m trying… very hard, just getting over the pain/sickness… went to the gym today and worked me

Be patient. Muscle memory is lasting. I had the similar happen with the OG COVID.

Was back to normal strength in under 2 weeks after losing strength and 17 lbs in 2 weeks. After the 2 week mark, never would have known I was so sick.

I was in the hospital with pneumonia for three weeks last year. Went from 210->188. I was back to normal weight in the same 2-3 weeks after sickness. Don’t worry about it.

Right… I look so small, in mirror and tape measure I’m just sad tbh… feel like years of dedication and work gone in 2-3 weeks of bed sickness and power is low low right now. 1/4-1/2 weight and feels like I’m maxed lol

I would attempt to explain this to a professional: it is something I would consider alarming

Pound out some volume, get your electrolytes back in order- potassium, magnesium, zinc, etc.

Its just a little hick up along the way.

Alarming that I am a little upset with how I look after working so hard ? Come on

Thanks for your input, it just seems so far away as before this took 6 months to go from where I am right now VS before sickness

You’re welcome.

Cells can inflate and deflate, changing volume as needed. You’ll just be pumping them back up. Throw in some creatine too if thats in line with your goals, you’ll be back to normal in no time.

Funny you say that. I took creatine daily up until sick/bed ridden etc and I just started back my normal regimen so I pray it will come back for summer time lol

To clarify: you are attacking my masculinity in the very topic where a temporary decline in your beauty has resulted in you experiencing indescribable depression?

I would further emphasize that speaking with a professional listener would be an excellent idea. Have an outstanding day my dude
