Good Things at the Gym

DBs up to 70kgs, plates and barbells everywhere (there were only 3 Barbells at the old gym and a poor quantity of plates)
2 squat racks that are either empty, or being used by someone who’ll readily welcome you to switch in.
A big box full of belts, bands, dipping belts, straps and wraps.
Only one PT, who happens to be very knowledgeable and helpful.
Chalk is no problem.
Some very knowledgeable people that are happy to help critique your form; my favourite being the other day when I asked a big bloke who had been squatting 350lbs ATG with perfect form to tell me where I might be going wrong with my front squat while he was resting between sets.
I felt like I was coming forward too much on the way up, my back possibly rounding half way up; maybe I wasn’t keeping my elbows or chest high enough. So that’s what I told him.
His response:

“Forget all that, you’re back’s fine; you’re not going low enough. Go down until you feel your arse touch your calves. You’re only just hitting parallel. Drop the weight and try again”

I did

“LOWER! TRY AGAIN!”

Then he stood there for about 5-10minutes barking at me until I got it right. Then complimented me on my strength for my size and went on his way.

And that’s why I like my gym.

camel toe

i seen myself in the gym mirror, that was pretty good.

Woke up got in a 2 mile run, some light lifting, then had a breakfast with no Hog. Hell so far didn’t even have to use my AK…Gotta say Today was

This one old timer at my gym told me a story last week about the old days of a gym that use to be in downtown Orlando. How a lot pros passed through there and that he once met Lou Ferrigno. Said Lou is a really good guy.

He then walked off to correct a beginner on how to do stiff leg dead lifts.
