Werk-san makes some cheap oly shoes that are quality if you want to go that route.
It really depends on what kind of squats that you are doing though. I do a closer stance squat in my oly lifting shoes and i go down where my rear is about 6" off the ground.
I havent tried powerlifting squats at all so i can’t comment about weightlifting shoes for those types of squats.

You can try the knockoffs, but I’d just go with the real thing. A pair of Chucks will last forever. Check online. You shouldn’t have much trouble finding a cheap pair.
Haha Chucks are one of the cheapest ‘name brand’ shoes there are, the fact that knock offs exist is pretty funny
There are a few companies that make knockoff chucks to appeal to the punk crowd who don’t want shoes made form sweat shops.
I found an old pair of warn down high top PLAID chucks in the closet of my parent’s house and thought “sweet now i dont have to buy any!”. I know I look like a ‘tard in the gym but they still fit and theirs no holes yet! … Their my cuttin’ grass shoes too…
what’s a good one for a guy with wide feet? I tried on some chucks last weekend because I know I need to get a better shoe for lifting but they are too damn narrow for my feet. I have wide, flat feet.

Yep, work boots are good or anything that is similar to them.
I already posted that one of my former ex strength coach made us use them insted of any flat shoes. I was squatting 465 then…
They are pretty good, incompressible sole, great grip and good ankle support. You can find them at most good sports retailers for £15, which is a bit less than Adidistars.

HiTec squash shoes
Those are pretty cool. Heel doesn’t look too steep.
I use adidas wrestling shoes for all my lifting except squats…then I bust out the Safe Contenders. I have also tried Crain’s squat boots which are real nice, but they are narrow and the heel was a little too high for my tastes. The Safe’s are wider and have less heel.
