Okay so I have some news:
Today a woman approached me and asked if I was going to compete.
Something I get asked at the gym often actually, and I gave my typical
“Ya maybe in like 5 years when I have the confidence. I dunno. It’s always in the back of my mind, but I honestly can’t even walk in heels so I’d make a total ass of myself”
So she started saying she’s always wanted to do it, but has never gone through with it. ANd right now she’s going through a divorce and thought it would be a great thing for her emotionally to do a show, but with money issues yadda yadda.
I was like “okay, well if you compete, I’ll compete”
And she was like
“Ya that’s what I was getting to. I am going to compete, I have officially made the decision and I am going to hire a coach today.”
So I was like
“Oh shit, now I have to compete”
And she’s like
“Ya it’s 16 weeks away girl”
I was like

She told me who she was hiring (this little trainer guy at my gym who I always see training that hot womenzz) and that we’d make a great support system for one another.
THere’s also another lady who she talks to that is going to compete as well.
I guess maybe I can go through with this. It’s basically all I think about and it’s not like it’s a life or death situation. I’ll either do good and feel awesome, or do shitty and feel awesome that I did it even though it terrified me.
I ran a marathon.
Not only that, but I finished in decent time even though I consumed Gatorade half way through and that stuff gives me the shits.
There was at least 10 minutes of porta-potty time in there.

So I am going to have to make some decisions RE: my diet.
I am plateauing [sort of]
I kinda told myself that I would build muscle until the end of Jan. and then try to lose a few pounds in Feb.
But since I am terrified of getting fat I have basically been trying to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time.
Then I freak out if the scale goes up even though I have been #beastmode-ing all of my workouts and getting better/stronger at everything.
I am disordered, SLIGHTLY ![]()
Building muscle is really fun, and being hungry sucks.
I would like to be like OKAY JENN, be fearless, be hulky, grow them muscles and cut when you can’t stand it any longer.
But then I am worried that I’ll just love the muscle building part so much I’ll never want to endure the actual cutting and I’ll end up 150lbs again.

They have to be in my price range + include T-Nation products in their program, so combining both those things will be very difficult, ha-ha.

So I was tossing and turning last night thinking about competing and it’s like dude, you cannot justify spending at least 2000 dollars solely on yourself. I am mad at myself for even considering doing something so selfish.
Sure, it might be good for my self-esteem, but like, that could be an investment into Gabe’s college fund.
Or even something more fun like a family vacation to Disney land for just the two of us.
And it’s funny cause that woman came up to me today and basically said she couldn’t handle spending that much money on herself right now because she wants to help her daughter buy a car, etc…
I am sure there are people thinking I am backing out because of anxiety/fear, but I honestly would love to do something like this and if I won some money I wouldn’t give it a second thought.
HOWEVER, I still want to challenge myself and maybe work on dieting more/tweaking shit so I can see my potential and awesome-ize my body like it’s never been awesome-ized.
Not 100% sure what I want to do yet exactly.
Maybe something simple like cut out 100 calories per day for a week, then 150, etc…
OR start carb cycling, hamstring/quad days high, ass day medium, back/shoulder/chest day low…
OR UM
more like having higher calorie days and lower calorie days based on the same schedule above…
I DUNNO! I need to organize my thoughts so I can figure out something that I am content with. I try to do everything right and work as hard as I can, but I still look like middle of the pack, DYEL kinda thing.
It’s bothersome and frustrating, but I have 100% faith that I can improve things and achieve some pretty stellar results.
