I’m going to watch my first bb competition this saturday. I heard that prejuding is boring but cheaper and that the finals is where most of the fun is at. Can you guys give me any tips to make my first experience a good one? Also maybe people could talk a little bit about what their first show was like.
Bring a camera and hang out backstage. Be sure to wear a pink shirt and tight jeans because that’s what the press always wear and they get backstage easily.
Pre-judging is worth going if you can to truly see what everyone is bringing to the table and its really where most of the judging will be decided anyhow. You’ll see a lot more comparisons. If you’re thinking of competing its worth attending.
Evening is just good fun though. After quick intros and glances at the female competitors you’ll see the top of each class. Building you get to see all the posing routines in the evenings, which is usually the main appeal.
Overall its worth it to make a day of it if you can. Otherwise at least make the evening to see how the placing goes and if you’re curious to see what led up to it, hit up pre-judging.
I’m not really interested in competing. I’m actually more into powerlifting, but I do have a healthy respect for bodybuilding and thought it would be fun to see a show. Plus one of my female friends is competing in the figure comp. Not sure if i wanted to sink a whole day into it so I wanted to see what the most interesting aspects of the competition would be.
