A good way to consistently add about 10 pounds a month to your bench is to buy 1/1-4 pound plates (they only come in standard 1 inch hole) and simply hang them off the barbell with some string. If you bench once a week and are able to add 2.5 pounds each week then thats a 10 pound gain on your bench in 1 month. Ya sure it looks wierd hanging the plates off the bar but I have been doing that not only with bench but with pretty much every other excercise too.

I guess you’re new to lifting then, it usually referred to as micro-loading, works to a degree but not for too long. Just add it to your arsenal.

Back in the day
There was this girl around the way
She liked by home-piece M.C.A.
He said he would not give her play
I asked him, “Please?” - he said, “You may.”
Her pants were tight and that’s ok
If she would dance - I would D.J.
We took a walk down to the bay
I hope she’ll say,
“Hey me and you should hit the hay!”
I asked her out - she said, “No way!”
I should have probably guessed her gay
So I broke North with no delay
I heard she moved real far away
That was two years ago this May
I seen her just the other day
Jockin’ Mike D. to my dismay
im guessing he didnt get 260 either…
I havent even been benching the bar lately. Ive just been doing dumbells. Its funny im not even worried about my bench max any more. More concerned with deadlifts, and pull-ups. I am also more concerned with my dumbell benching as it forces my arms to actually stabilize the weight. Funny how your attitude changes the farther along you go.

But the real question isn’t whether or not he made it, the real question is what did the lunchladies think?

if your going for a max try a set of heavy bent over rows or weighted chins 3 min prior to your max set.
MISCON, can that help substantially. I never thought of that and will be giving it a try next time I max.

I think if it worked there’d be alot more powerlifters doing it!!
I didn’t think it would make your bench jump fifty pounds or anything, but maybe help with that little bit of extra activation. And not in regard to a powerlifting max with an arch or gear, but a back flat on the bench lift. No biggie either way, but I do think I’ll try it for the hell of it next time I max.

It does work and nothing warms you up better than pairing agonist antagonist training. I think most powerlifters dont do it because they cang grasp the concept. ___insert caveman grunt)OR they are to lazy, yes many fat ass powerlifters love sitting there asses on a bench but doing a chin up and lookin glike a wuss cause they cant chin there body more than three reps.
you have to go heavy with perfect form, personally the same grip as you using with the bench I like pronated grip, Sometimes I do the cable machine row instead and works well.
I WILL NOT MAX ANYOTHER WAY IT FEELS SO COMFORTABLE.
HANLEY: SEND POLIQUIN A QUESITON ABOUT THIS IT DOES WORK>

Im a little confused. I train for raw powerlifting and compete at 198. I did 37 pullups (non kipp) last week. I train with a 270lber that can do 12.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been burned.
So your putting 55lbs on your bench by May 1st?
So, assuming you bench twice per week, you’ll add nearly 7lbs to your max bench per session for 4-5 consecutive weeks?
If you do this, please patent and sell your program as it is the holy grail of bench pressing.
