Nice!
Hope this is your last week before entering the slave labor camp again.

I may enjoy a nice little Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 in a few minutes as well.

If all goes well Monday my start date looks to be the 26th. a little time to close off my ‘bucket list’.

I have maintained a little list of all the things I wanted to do with the kids while I had the time away from the working world. A couple items are left.

Happy Anniversary!

Long term marriages are worth a huge celebration.

11 years and got to go see 80s hardcore icons the CroMags. They were really the start for any of the harder music listened to today. Well, actually their predecessors, and friends, Bad Brains, in my eyes, got it all going. But the 'Mags took it in a different direction. Cool thing is the singer remembered me and a few of my old friends from when we met them… in 87.

Note on my hall pass tonight. Been talking about the show for the longest time, the wife keeps saying I deserve to get out, etc. Kept saying they are playing July 10th… so on and so on.

This morning, got up early for benching, my 3.9 year old gets up, we hang out, have some breakfast. Time to leave and I go in to wake the wife up. “Happy Anniversary” I say. She looks at me completely wide eyed: “Huh?”

She forgot it was our anniversary. Straight up confessed it there.

Men, you know how awesome this is. I will own this date for the next 50 years. Of course she will find something to trump it, but for now I am so happy with this victory…

and here, the lyrics of the first part of one of the 'Mags songs, “we gotta know”. Very formative for me:

Strugglin in the streets just trying to survive
Searchin for the truth is just keepin us alive
Gotta break these shackles gotta break these chains
Said the only way we’ll do it is if we use our brains
Said there’s gotta be some meaning to the purpose of life
I know there must be more than the struggle and strife
Cause I’m looking for the answers and I need a clue
Cause my mind’s so disturbed now what do I do?

Notice everywhere there’s mass confusion and packs of lies
We gotta know!
We’re starin down our enemies in the eyes
We gotta know!
These are the days of the cheaters and the cheated
We gotta know!
But we’re not gonna bend you know we won’t be defeated
We gotta know!

That is too funny. I don’t think I’ve ever been on that end of a forgotten date. Sounds like it was a great time at the show.

Since when do women forget things like that?Doesnt that give you a free pass to forget something important?

front squats just feel sooooo unnatural.

Today: elliptical x 30 minutes, pushing lawnmower x 90 minutes, 1.5 mile walk.

Plus a couple hours at beach with family, where I got a call to confirm final interview for Monday.

Had ribs on the deck, as I was finishing UPS made a delivery. Good timing, will enjoy a cigar shortly. [/quote]
I hate front squats. That’s why I’ve worked them back in the rotation from time to time. They make me feel small and weak.

Cro-mags \m/ Years ago I remember seeing Madball, H20, SOIA, Strife, Snapcase, Civ…etc. I used to love the old hardcore stuff.

Scott, love all of the above.

skwat night. had interview today. playing waiting game now. stress made me feel bound tight as a drum, not optimal performance conditions.

Raw warm ups 145 x 10, 235 x 5, 325 x 3,
Briefs, wraps 415 x 2, 505 x 2, 575 x 2, 615 x 2. felt like shit but got them, + 20 over last week, will keep building up in 10 or 20 lb increments for awhile. Or run through the same weights as last two weeks but for triples. Hmmm, debating.

Close stance (raw) box squat 325 x 15

ghr
hanging abs
dumbbell shrugs 4 x some of each, in a circuit

prowler 10 x 90lbs x 40 yards. Prowler partner back, so each set was only broken up with ‘active recovery.’

my 20 year old took me out for lunch today for my birthday, that was cool.

Pete, been following your log for a while. Good luck with the interview. You’re one strong sumbitch.

thanks hawkcapt1912. Whereabouts in Iowa are you?

30 minutes elliptical then 2 mile walk. low level cardio and low carbs on off days for awhile

somewhat familiar with the area. The UPA meet there at the end of the month should be pretty fucking good, especially (am I really saying this?) for the RAWWWWW set. Efferding, Lillibridge, and what not. Actually a dude from my commercial gym is set to compete there as well.

The worst thing about job interviewing? Waiting after for the response. Old joke: How do you put an asshole in suspense?

I’ll tell you later…

Looking forward to seeing the results from that one. I think Efferding is going to try to put more distance between himself and Konstantinovs for raw total.
