Going Bananas

30 minutes elliptical, after 3rd interview. I will know by COB tomorrow.

Another interview in an hour and a half. This one not so lucrative.

Luck! hope you get a positive response

Good luck… fingers crossed for ya.

Interviews suck, no way around it. With everything going I feel so tensed and knotted, another reason for me to play it as I feel in the gym.

Despite something like 4 straight weeks of contractions, baby ain’t coming out yet… plans to induce next week possibly.

Interviews suck, no doubt about it. But it looks like things are coming to a head on a number of fronts, in a good way.

Yeah, shits is finally happening, the next couple days and weeks are going to be very memorable, I feel.

Thing I hate about interviews, after years of being the ‘interviewer’, is getting the same shit I dished all those years. I personally have probably hired and fired a couple hundred people in the last fifteen years. Now I am on the other end of the stick, so to speak.

The worst are the ‘psychological’ interview questions: “Tell me about when you have had an angry customer and what you did to resolve their situation?” “Well, I told them to shut the fugg up and kicked them in the shins”.

I know the purpose of the questions, but in reality what they mostly reveal is how good someone is at interviewing, not their skills or intellect.

That being said, I used to have a lot of fun recording the answers to those sorts of questions when interviewing for a call center type job. The interviewees were mostly either a) out of college two days ago or b) no college degree, work experience in service and retail trying to ‘move up’ to another crappy job but with better benefits. I actually got a lot of answers like the one I gave above.

Interviews, baby’s coming…no stress right?? Hang in there big boy. I hope the interview goes well.

i feel for you big boy. i thanks my lucky stars that i have a steady job. I got my job eleven years ago when i looked more politically correct. I would hate to have to go out and interview now. I feel like my big, hairy ugliness couldn’t help my chances much. I’m sure I would have to shave and that would take at least 50lbs off my bench right then and there. Throw in a suit and a tie and i’m down to benching the bar again.

i’m sure your personality makes up for a lot though:) I don’t even have that.

My favorite answer to an interview question I had;

Them - “Why should we hire you over the other applicants?”

Me - “Because when you are down by 1 with 2 seconds left, I am the one you want taking the shot. I’m a pressure player and you can count on me.”

True story, I got the job, lol…suckers

i think if i got that question i would say that i would make a bigger “meat shield” if some disgruntled employee came in shooting up the place.

Last job I got was ten years ago… when I too was a little less ugly. Now I spend a shit ton of money at MensWharehouse to make myself a little more presentable.

One of my favorite interview exchanges:

Interviewer: We have tons of stuff near here, DisneyLand, the beach, shopping, sports, the “Mighty Ducks” hockey team, a short distance to local skiing . . .

Me (snickering): The “Mighty Ducks” what a joke, a pro-hockey team named after a bad disney movie of all things!

Interviewer: I’m a season ticket holder and I love both the Mighty Ducks hockey team and the movie.

Me (not snickering): I won’t be getting the job, will I.

Interviewer: Ahh, no.

bench assist stuff today:

No DE work, didn’t want to mess with it.

Close grip bench, 135 x 10, 225 x 8, 275 x 8, 315 x 8, 335 x 8, PR of some sort

DBell incline 100s x 10, 120s x 10

HS military press, pin selector worked up to stack for 3 sets of 10

Seated dbell curl 40s x 8, 50s x 8, 65s x 8, x 8

pressdown supersetted with dips 4 x 15 each

hammer curl 70s x 8, 100s x 5, 75s x 10

wrist curl 2 x 15

2 mile hilly walk w/dogs, decompresser

6 pm, still haven’t heard on job I was supposed to hear on, meanwhile looks like I am flying to Philly on Monday for an interview for equally lucrative job

Classic

finally got to take kid to new Twins ballpark today. Lousy game but great venue. This involved walking about 3 miles, a good portion of which was while carrying a 40lber.

Then we went to the gym, here are the highlights:

GMs worked up to 505 x 3. I think this equals all time PR.

Rack pulls from right at knee, or ‘dick outs’: up to 765 x 2

leg press up to 26 plates time 10

dumbell rows 100s x 10, 125s x 10, x 10

ab wheel bwt x 10, 25 x 10, 45 x 10

ghr 3 x 10

long day, skipped prowler, lots of job stuff still going on. just hire me already people.

505 on GMs. Enough said.

You may have walked 3 miles carrying a 40 lber but you also ate 2 sausage subs, 2 hotdogs, a burger and washed it down with 2 cokes (just a guess).

Eco, I wish. That was kind of my plan. But managing the kid and keeping him close to me made food trips real difficult, and also, sadly, the food is pretty damn expensive. So what did I manage to eat? One lousy hot dog. And drank water.

Bummer. One hotdog and water. I feel sad for you now.
