I was wrong–troll

Blackbelts at 11 are prodigies. You are no prodigy.
Your lack of concern about your weight, even though this is where your focus should be and where most of the posts have centered is telling.

Nate-that is nuts.

Boy. I gotta see this.

You can’t miss it.[/quote]

Anyone else thinking Beverly Hills Ninja? That said I don’t doubt he could be a black belt in Karate, some dojos are just giving that shit away.

Okay Peanut Butter Devil,

If in fact you aren’t a troll,

You’re 13! You’re 13! You’re 13!

No one gives a damn how much you can lift if you’re morbidly obese at 13. Period. Lifting is a powerful tool and I love it to death, but you don’t need to spend more time in the gym. You need to do more push aways, as in PUSH AWAY FROM THE DINNER PLATE.

At 13 for you to have that kind of fattitude, and supposedly be physically active, means you either:

  1. Have a medical condition that you should seek professional treatment for

or

  1. EAT LIKE A GOD DAMNED GRIZZLY BEAR

Start eating right, stay active and hope puberty helps drastically change your body composition.

This wasn’t a slam by the way, again assuming you’re not a common troll, I’m just trying to get you to see the big picture.

Good luck,

-Conor

no way not true, i started karate when i was 9 and didn’t get black belt till i was 16 (your not allowed to num nuts).

right seriously i starter lifting at 13 got my bench to 150lb then ripped my shoulder muscle took 2 years to repair. but here something i do

6.30- get up go for 10-15 minute (jog/walk) or ride bike to school
eat breakfast- 3 scrambled eggs, slice of toast, cup of oj
go to school- small snack break (play kiss catch with the girls/ boys (if your into that kind of thing)
dinner- 1 protion meta, 2 veggie portions ( no chips/ fries)
after school- ride home get gym gear walk/ride biek to gym

gym workout1- chest press up 3 set x failure
pec deck 3 sets x 15-20
shoulder lat raises 3x 15-20
sit ups 3x failure

gym workout2- assited pull ups 3x failure
lat pull downs 3 x 15-20
tri cep press down- 3 x 15-20
reverse sit ups- 3x failure

gym work out 3- leg press- 3x 15-20
leg extension- 3x 15-20
leg curl - 3x 15-20
calf raises - 3x 15-20

use light weights, do some cardio every day, eat small but often, play sports (good for making friends and scoring with the chicks).

light and easy to start with when your down to about 160lb you’ll be taller, alot thinner and ready to start pounding your muscles.

Yes, and I just pictured her with nothing but a black belt. I hope pb didn’t mean that…

Is that what you currently do? Whats a “shoulder lat raise”?

i know some people think your too young to be lifting but it can only be a positive thing. i started lifting when i was 14 and i dont think theres anything wront with it. but the first thing you should do it work on your nutritian. probably try to cut down on the fat and simple carbs. And with your weight training read any of the beggniner articles on this site and youll learn alot from it. remember to pick compound exersizes, forget the leg press and curls. i suggest doing cardio after your weight training and eating right and you should be getting where you want to be. just keep reading on this site, it has so much information.

Hey pbdevil,

You need to concentrate on being healthy before any lifting. Being 13, this means cutback on junk food and staying active. If you are as athletic as you claim then you need to severely cut back on the amount of food you consume.

After that, you can get yourself in shape by performing general exercises such as walking, jogging and then progress to pushups and bodyweight squats. Do them frequently if you truly wish to change the way you look and feel.

Don’t bother with weights until you can do 15 pushups with good form and sprint 50 metres without getting a heart attack.

Once you are ready to lift weights, read the numerous threads and articles for newbies in T-Nation, simply type “beginners” in the search engine, or even better, read Vroom’s thread.

Chris Shugart’s “youth gone wild” is definetly one of the best articles for beginners.

P.S. Why not upload a pic or tell us more about yourself?

guys can u just give me a simple diet i could follow, or at least a basis of some high protein foods that would be good for me and god damnit dont put in ne more insults, i’ve heard all of them and i’ve heard enough

Don’t go to a bodybuilding and expect everyone to give you an exercise + nutrition plan when you have not done ANY research at all.

No one can give you a precise meal plan as nobody knows your activity level, goals, how much spare money you got etc…

Just like no one will give an advanced routine to a begginner, you don’t need a complicated diet to get results. Just simply eliminate all the crappy food in your diet and slowly add in healthy high-protein food like fat-free milk, tuna and eggs in between.

Try to eat 4-6 smaller meals instead of 3 big meals.

Vegetables and Fruits = good
Sugar = bad
lean meat, eggs and fish = good
Oats, brown bread = good
White Bread, Hamburgers, Donuts = bad

I hope this sounds easy enough to follow, if not, you have bigger problems than anyone here at T-Nation can solve.

here is a simple one: eat less and move more. seriously. thats it.

All right, I believe you.

I think a lot of dojos will give anyone a black belt. You haven’t earned a real one though. I believe you worked out at 11. No one here would define it as working out, but I believe you did some lifting at 11. I even believe you did all of those sports. No one here would accuse you of doing it with much enthusiasm, but I believe you did go to the practices, etc. I even believe you made great increases in your lifts. I doubt technique even existed, but I believe you there too.

Now that you have your validation, some simple advise.

Diet: eat 4 to 6 times a day. Get protein at each meal and lots of vegetables.

Training: Do Leg Press, Deadlift, Bench Press, Cable Row and Pulldowns. Do that 3 days a week and do each exercise for 3 sets of 20 reps. Most important, find someone qualified to teach you proper form on each exercise.
For cardio, 4 days a week start walking for an hour. Turn the walking into walking with some jogging. As you add the jogging, decrease your hour by the time that you jog. Start with 5 minutes.

For god sakes, stop the junk food for 6 out of 7 days and only treat yourself once on the 7th day, not all day.

Seriously, if you do just this and start reading everything here, you’ll get what you want. Do this routine for 3 months by the way, and then use your newfound knowledge to change it.

Rolo.

aight i know imma get slammed for doing this(but thank god ive changed)when i was 12-13 i was 4’8 and 220…ah,slamming hasnt started yet yay, anyway i dont see how you could be that heavy when you played soccer,i played at 5’8 140 and dropped 10lbs in a week, played last year at 5’11 and 170 and dropped to 150(6-8 miles a day in practice alone)so,what im saying is you either lied or have a “snail-can-beat-you” metabolism in which case i reccomend

1.find a site that has how much protein/carbs/fat coomon foods have in them
2.find out how you are eating of each
3.screw the weights
4.do nothing but cardio
5.after a week of doing nothing but cardio start cutting 500 cals every 2 weeks until you lose a lot of that weight

i have no idea why so many are giving him plans,i would think thats the last thing he needs now since lifting adds more weight,he needs cardio right now, nothing else

ok, my bench increased to 115 lbs, lat pull down to 105 lbs, leg press to 380 lbs

Have you decreased your food intake?

Have you actually read anything in this thread?

Alright, on the off-chance that you are for real (although I tend to doubt a fat 9-year old blackbelt):

Diet: cut out soda and chips. From your height/weight/age profile, I bet you put down your fair share of Big Gulps. Just like the billboards say, “Eat Mor Chiken” - not at McD’s or Wendy’s either. Eat a good breakfast every day - not Cookie Crisp. Eggs are preferred, but at your age, even Cheerios in milk and oj will suffice.

Training: Power Cleans - lots of em, Bench press, pull-ups, rows, squats (ditch the leg press as soon as you can). Run sprints. Paintball is cool and fun, but shouldn’t be considered your main running program. Jump rope too. And 13 is not too young to lift weights. I got my first weight set at 12.

Go for it.
