Ghetto Gym

Your dumbbells don’t have any rust =] That is also one large rack. Power rack I mean, though your dumbbell rack is good size too. That’s one thing about having your own gym. Stuff that seems extra, like a dumbbell rack (or plate trees) is key for optimizing space. There’s the coolness factor too, but space is at a premium unless you live in a mansion. [/quote]

Yeah I don’t have much room. I would like to get those magnets that you attach to the dumbbells since my DB’s increment by 10 from 60 to 100’s but I am happy with what I got.

And my brothers hate me when I move.

I’ve got increments of 5 from 3 (except these) to 65. I use handles and plates for anything other than those. I have olympic and standard handles.

I haven’t moved since having all this stuff, but now that you mention it that would be a good time for an off week huh?

I bought it bc it was cheap! It goes from steep incline down to slight decline.

Another guy with that Marcy bench. Third or 4th so far. Does the adjustable part of yours tilt a bit too?

Mine came with the machine, but what I meant was the top part that raises or declines points slightly to one side on mine. Another guy has one that said the same thing. I was just curious.

Same here. I was the one who mentioned the problem earlier on; mine tilts quite a bit to the left and no amount of tightening seems to fix it.

Theres a lot you can do with limited space and a little creativity. This is in my home, posted them before but am really happy with what I put together.

the other half…

I want that leg sled

That is an awesome gym muscleheadz. How long have you had it for?

Did you buy all the equipment at once or in increments?

Do you mean that the adjustable part points off or that it actually leans like a ball would roll off the side?

Its taken me about 5 years to put this together. Started ot with a Bowflex I bought through a local paper, turned around and sold it on e-bay for a $400 profit and started building from there. Once I had all the equipment I needed I finished my basement added some mats and hooked up the sound. The great thing about it is I have a window built in so I can look out into my 2 sons playroom and keep track of them while i’m working out.

Some updated shots.

Please be patient with my sluggish residential upstream.

EDIT:
BTW, some of my stuff, like the home made PVC trap bar are for my 11 year old daughter before anyone asks.

How long have you had those DB’s (rusty ones) for Trib?

New Stuff:
Got myself a Power rack and moved up to the garage from the basement a few months ago, and another 300lb weight set (not pictured)recently.

Crappy picture quality, garage lighting isn’t the best.

All different times. The light ones new, some at garage sales and some I traded computer work/stuff for. I love training at home. If I wasn’t currently unemployed and pretty much broke I’d have a membership somewhere too, but nothing beats not having to leave the house.

im jealous! lol.

Digging up an old thread. Here’s where I lift.

Concrete floor, walls covered with Soviet Bloc glass tiles from the 1960s. There used to be a wall next to the stairs but I knocked it down - hence light switch hanging in midair suspended by wires with 220 V running through them. Bare light bulb hanging from the ceiling, of course. And two parts of a decades-old couch serving as a barrier so I don’t fall down the stairs.

From the other side.

I could move the lifting to the garage and have room for a squat rack, bench etc. but to be honest I’m making progress so obviously what I’ve got is sufficient. Of course I do lots of hack squats and pistols.

Now we’re talking!

I’m pretty sure the Soviet Bloc tile would be pretty hard to find over here =] That may change after this next election cycle though =[

This thread has got me thinking of buying my own bench. Could everyone give their opinions on the following please:
