Jesup gym equipment has the same squat rack for 275 shipped. 245 if you pick it up in iowa.

search for it online[/quote]

Almost not worth the drive from Massachusetts to save the $30, with gas prices being so high! I’ll search for them online, thanks for the tip.

One chick remarked that my bedroom in the morning reminded her of total recall. I thought that was fucking awesome.

I’ve had parties round my house where I put chains around the cage and girls seem pretty happy to go in there and do some dancing.

It is also really useful as a clothes line during these rainy weeks we’ve been having.

YOU ROCK!

@ n3wb:

The cable/pulley system has always been decent, but not the smoothest. Today I took all the pulleys off to re-grease the bearings and found out that since day one a couple of them had the bearings seated crooked which created drag on the cable circuit.

Even though I’ve looked it over several times since I put it together this wasn’t really visible until I took them out. I just figured it was cheap pulleys with cheap bearings. Re-seating the bearings made a hyoooj difference in smoothness.

You were saying you had the same machine, I wonder if yours may have some of that as well.

.

What’s your point magnate?

I’m sure he’s just posting a picture of his gym to show everybody what it looks like.

It’s pretty damn tidy I’ll give you that Magnate. What are you planning on acquiring to fill all of that empty space with?

I threw this rig together this afternoon to get my cable attachments off the floor after my daughter tripped and almost broke her neck.

EDIT: OK, I just figured out that the script this site’s software uses must assume that the larger of the 2 sides is always horizontal. In other words it won’t let me post this shot the way I took it. I tried rotating it and it made no difference. Sorry for anyone’s sore neck.

Justice.

I’ve seen commercial gyms less ‘ghetto’ than yours Trib.

There’s something extra rewarding about building your own equipment for the gym too.

My next project is going to be a platform to put across my rack, I’ll lie face down across it and use straps to attach myself to the leg extension on my bench: Home Made Reverse-Hyper.

I agree.

Ghetto gym? You’ve got enough equipment to last you a lifetime…

You could do quite a bit with what he’s got. He’s only been training a year though and yes he will outgrow this eventually. Magnate what are those little ring things that look like muffler clamps?

once i can afford it i want to get a half-rack, low cieling so an actual power rack isnt really an option. Other than that more plates, weight tree would probably be a good idea as well, too poor to really care about much else at the moment :stuck_out_tongue:

your guess is as good as mine, probably from some old box down in the basement

Hey,
I just measured my ceilings in the basement and they are 87.5 inches not 82.5 (5" off…what’s the big deal???) , so I could easily fit an 84" rack in there if I wanted to.

Now I just need to break the news gently to my wife, bear with the eye rolling, the: “do you really need a gym in the basement?” and finally the “go ahead, if it makes you happy.”

Then I’ll pop the: “by the way, what are we doing with our tax refund this year?” Heheh.
