Hey doc - can you give me something to take away the pain but leave the swelling?

How long after getting snipped were some of y’all back lifting weights?
As I stated above in my case it was a week. If you don’t have problems you should be ok in like three days I imagine. It is considered minor surgery

Had mine in 2004. I had an allergic reaction to the stitching the used so I was sitting on a tennis ball sized sack for a few very unpleasant days. But the procedure will have nothing to do with either your natural test or your training after you can walk normally which is usually two days unless you get what I got. Even then a week later it was like nothing ever happened.
I realize It’s an old thread, I realize I’m scooping Mak’s line, but…
“Pics or it never happened.”
When older guys get snipped, most are already on a decline of hormones. Cause and effect may be difficult to prove.
I had an ache long term, both sides. I would like to see someone with that try hCG and see if that improves things.
I had 4 tiny titanium clamps left inside. Not good, those can hurt when bumped around.

I’d love to see you discuss the cons of this procedure a little more. There are some people I know that would like to see me get this done but I am resistant.
How are you guys handling it now?
I know this is a little off topic, but why is it always the guys that get the snip?
Why doesn’t she get her tubes tied?

It is easier on the guy and less invasive. And everything my wife has gone through (3 C sections), a little snip and a weekend on the couch is minor.
and it’s easier to be reversed - actually, I don’t think it is reversible on women.
Fair enough. But if you’ve both decided that you don’t want any more kids, why does it matter if it’s reversable?

If you both are done (as my wife and I) then it doesn’t matter.
had mine done years ago. had the doctor set the mirror up so I could watch the procedure. a metal grounding paddle under my ass, few shots to numb the area, a load of valium in the arm, and showtime.
a small incision, pulled the tubes out, cut a piece @ 2" long out, folded over the tube, tied off and cauterized(hence the paddle). a few stitches and walked out.
nothing strenuous for a week or so. use a bag of frozen peas on the area. they freeze and refreeze quickly. hit them to loosen them up and they conform nicely and they are light. never had any problems except for the itching as the hair grew back.
didn’t start shooting dust till I passed 45

I have no cons to discuss…had mine 8 years ago…I’m hornier than ever, aggressive as ever and bigger than ever.
And you, ya daft bastard, if it means going bareback with ‘some people’…what are ya waiting for ???

Because people change their minds.
My cousin and her hubby had 3 kids. They decided that was enough. He got snipped and they went on that way for a couple years. Then they decided they wanted to try and crank out some more kids. He got it reversed and since then its been kid, after kid, after kid back to back to back.
I just had mine yesterday. A nice way to spend thanksgiving, huh? Hey I don’t have to help with the dinner or the dishes, etc.
Anyway, I’m anxious to get back to lifting. I’m currently about to start week 6 of Eric Cressey’s Maximum Strength Program. (BTW - I love this program and my workout partner and I are hooked on powerlifting now.)
I’m a little concerned about lifting heavy though. I had the procedure on Wednesday and my next scheduled lifting day is Sunday. (This week I did all four lifting days in a row to get them in before the vasectomy.)
I’m thinking of still following this program and just easing back on the poundages this week.
Or do you think I should take next week off from heavy lifting, work on mobility drills and supplemental and accessory movements, and then pick up where I left off a week later?
