I went to BFL web site, and i have to ask…“how in the fuck did you do all that ??” what supplements did you use ? i know it all wasnt EAS… had to be some biotest if anything…
Hey bro. You can check out my before/afters here: Performance Nutrition Products & Protein Supplements | EAS 2001/bios/joal_marion.shtml
That was last August, but it still gives you a face to correlate w/ a fellow “poster.”
Like i said before, i’m not planning on getting super ripped right now; just losing some bf before i start bulking again. So, i probably won’t be taking any “serious” pics for quite a while yet. Just wanted to drop off the URL. Hope all is going well with you.
Hey PODGE, here is a URL to my page about sprinting types of cardio: http://www.tcnj.edu/ ~marion4/cardio.html
I created this site last september, and grant it, i have learned so much more since then. Needless to say, it needs to be updated. However, this particular page is still very “up to date” for the most part. On the page you will find a couple of sample “sprinting” workouts that take no longer than 15 mins, and are exceptional for burning fat and elevating the metabolism for up to 48 hours. Here is an example of a morning sprinting session for me:
7:00am/Wake my ass up and take 2-3 caps of MD6
7:20am/Head outside and do some light stretching and warm-up activity
7:30am-745am/Intense Sprinting Session
7:50am-8:10am/Shower and get dressed etc.
8:40am- post cardio meal (i’m usually at work or school by this time, so i just bring my post-cardio meal with me)
My post-cardio meal usually consists of protein equating to .25g per lb of LBM, and at least 25 grams of maltodextrin (up to 50 grams should my diet allow me to do so) I just use Ulta Fuel by Twin Lab, it’s very economical, and 25 grams of carbs (mostly malto) a scoop. If you got any other questions bro, just direct them to me here on the forum. Hope this helps. Joel
Oh yeah, i try to sprint and weight train on alternating days. I sprint 2-3 days, and weight train 3-4 while cutting. The main reason i do this is to keep carbs to a minimum as i consume SURGE on training days, and Ultra Fuel on sprinting days. I’d rather not combine them both in the same day if at all possible.
Sounds like most of you are doing quite well. Joel, I just saw your pics…congratulations on your outstanding effort. Day three of old school keto (Lyle McDonald’s program)…going well so far. With the exception of my hard-boiled eggs for breakfast, the rest of my fat is exclusively from EFA’s (Udo’s, fish, walnuts), and this is the first time I have relied almost solely on EFA’s as opposed to saturated fats (cream, butter, cheese) so I’m expecting faster fat loss, although I don’t have much more to lose. I just want my 5 mm. ab skinfold back! Out of curiosity, have any of you ever gone below 5 mm? I know 3-4 mm. is essentially zero subcutaneous fat. I had forgotten how difficult workouts can be on 20 g. of carbs/day, but I’ve made it through so far. It’s nice to eat some different things for a change, although I miss the hell out of my oatmeal/low carb Grow and my cottage cheese/strawberries w. low carb Grow! I’ve pretty much perfected the CKD by now, as I’ve done it five or six times in the past, learning new things each successive time. Now if only I can master the carb-up…this is the only really difficult thing I’ve encountered. I know how much to consume, but I’ve got some kind of serotonin thing that kicks in as soon as I start carbing…I just lose it completely. I have literally eaten so much that I could barely get up off the couch due to water retention and that coma-like feeling. Ten more days and it’s bulking time w. some Mag-10. To the person who said someting about posting pics…I am probably going to be taking some post-diet (and will also serve as pre-Mag 10), so I would be interested in putting them up if you could do that. Keep me posted on how you all are doing!
So, your sprint session lasts 15 minutes… damn near first thing in the morning, which makes sence. but, what “x” amount of time do you sprint for, and what “x” ammount of time is your rest period ?.. i use that ultra fuel too, i love it… when you mix it with vanilla protein, it tastes awesome !!
Started a keto diet 10 days ago. I’m miserable and cranky, thanks for asking.
Podge, did you get a chance to view the URL that i provided on my last post. There are two of the sprint workouts that i like to do. I use the 12 minute one more than anything; it’s a kick ass workout, and only 4 minutes of maximal work, actually a little less. If for some reason you can’t pull the page up, just let me know and i will elaborate on the workout on another post.
To be perfectly honest with you, the after pic that you viewed was taken in August of last year. I wasn’t even introduced to the Biotest line of products until mid october of last year, so no, i didn’t use any Biotest products for that transformation. I actually didn’t use any type of androgens at all. I did it all by manipulating diet and training for maximal gains. The actual dietary program that i used was the “ABCDE Diet” (Anabolic Burst Cycling through Diet and Exercise) by Torbjorn (pronounced Tor-b-yorn) Akerfeldt. It’s actually very similar to a 2 week on two week off cycle of Mag-10, only with more fat, and without the Mag-10. I had been on a calorie restricted diet for quite some time prior to that, taking my body fat from 16% to ~5.8%, and when i started the program, it really was my first ever bulking cycle. Well, my dietary and training knowledge, coupled with the fact that this was really my first attempt at gaining some serious mass gave me some extraordinary results. Now, i’m even smarter than i was then, and am continuing to learn everyday. If you want to see an even earlier pic of me at 16%, it’s on my homepage…just click home after you read the cardio information. I’m not blessed with genetics…i had been training off and on for a few years and getting nowhere except fat. Learning how to go about things was the biggest step in my progress. As far as supplements, my main one was food (i consider all MRP’s and the like food). Thanks for the Ultra Fuel/Protein idea! I’m gonna use that. Let me know if you can get to the site, if not i’ll post the workout on here.
Just got back from the gym and my strength is actually way up from last week when i was on maintainance calories! It was pretty cool! Especially considering that i have been taking in around 1400 calories with very limited carbs for the last 4 days now. I was pretty much shocked, but hey, i guess thats the power of Mag-10.
Man, leaning out sucks big time. It’s just such a slow process. I definitely like seeing some muscle under the fat though. I’m getting there , around 1-2 pounds a week . I am probably around 12-13%. My Tanita says 16% but I don’t think that’s right. Maybe the low carbs. I can see my abs so doubt I am 16%. Once I get to 10% will I work my way back to maintenance and maybe EDT. Then after maybe a cycle of mag 10.
thanks… i finally got your website pulled up right, so i printed out that routine and going to try it out, if it doesn’t kill me :)…
Cool. Let me know how things go. I’ll be sprinting tommorow, so if i can do it, so can you. It will actually be quite a shock for me, since i have done absolutly no cardio work at all for the last 6 months. My last cutting cycle i got lean solely through diet and continued weight training. I’ve decided to incorporate it this cycle due to the fact that i’m getting lean with the some anabolic aid; it should be an adventure tommorow morning.
KMan to Big Bruva
How have you modified Meltdown because of not being able to do legs? I have a knee problem that gets aggravated by squats and deadlifts.
Joel - I will definately give some sprinting a try. I usually use jump rope intervals as my “sprinting”. Thanks for the link. I remember seeing that picture a while ago and I’m glad to see you active in this forum. Didn’t see you too much for while.
Anyway, I'm doing well, but I need some encouragment. I've only got 2.5 more weeks of this cutting madness before I do the myostat/MAG-10 bulking cycle. As each day progresses that bulking cycle is looking more and more appealing.
Somebody tell me that there is a good reason to wait and get a little leaner before 8 weeks of all out bulking.
Keep up the good work everybody. As Cam Birtwell stated in the first thread, "Nothing tastes as good as being ripped feels."
“Nothing tastes as good as being ripped feels.”… “Nothing tastes as good as being ripped feels.”… “Nothing tastes as good as being ripped feels.”… Keep it up man !!.. sounds like you’re going through a hard time today with the diet… I do sometimes too, luckily, not today… also, it’s true the leaner you are, the more muscle (instead of fat) you’ll gain when you bulk…right ?.. just got to keep thinking of yourself as making a muscle investment… I’m at a big time sticking point for the past two weeks, I’ve lost maybe 2 pounds… I’m trying Joel’s sprint routine, starting tonight, to see if that busts me out of this rut. I can’t drop my calories any lower than what they are now… I’ve been on this T2 pro these two weeks and I believe it might not work as good for me as T2… as far as your motivation, keep taking that MD6. the days that you’re not, try some of that 5-HTP… (shit, I get mine from Wal-Mart, of all places…) that might help keep your mind on track.
You want motivation? Here goes… When we both start bulking like crazy at the end of this month, two scenarios could be present:
#1) I’ll still be lean (+/-6%). You’ll have gotten ripped, too. Our emails to one another will be constant reminders to keep our noses to the grindstones, training hard and chowing down, or else our counterpart will gain more lean mass. You’ll make the most of your supplement dollar because you’ll gain more lean mass than fat because you started leaner. All the villagers will rejoice, and the Kings will probably win an NBA championship!
#2) I’ll still be lean, but you’ll be relatively smooth and say, “Aw, shucks, I’ll give this Mag-10 a go anyway.” Each day, I’ll report how great my gains are. You on the other hand, will make great gains, but you won’t be able to see them as easily, so you’ll start second guessing yourself. You might fall short on calories because you feel like they’re not going where they supposed to go. As such, you’ll undercut your gains. Meanwhile, I’ll be reporting crazy gains in lean mass and strength because I went through tow tough months to lean out. When all is said and done, I’ll have won our little contest. What’s worse, you’ll not only be humiliated in defeat, but you’ll also be angry that you didn’t make the most of your supplement expenditure by maximizing the capabilities of such an incredible product. All this, combined with the hundreds of emails that I plan to send to rub it in, will push you to the brink of insanity. Ironically, this will be right around the time that Game 7 of the NBA finals rolls around. And, wouldn’t you know, Paul Pierce will bury a three in Chris Webber’s face as time runs out in overtime to give the Celtics a win on the Kings’ home court. The men in green will celebrating their first championship since 1986. For you, it will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. You’ll probably go crazy…J-walking, tearing the tags off of all of your mattresses, and preaching the gospel of the Food Guide Pyramid! It’ll be the start of years of therapy. No bod pod or bioelectrical impedance fun for you…and definitely no sharp objects. Besides, they probably wouldn’t do any good anyway, as you’ll be sporting a nice new straight jacket!
All this because you didn’t feel like sticking with a cutting cycle for a few weeks…Pity.
Now, shouldn’t you go do your Meltdown?
Get to it, buddy!
Yeah, I’m not getting very ripped at all. With rolling exams, I haven’t been as active as I should be, and I think my metabolism has down-regulated despite the T-2 and MD6 I’m taking. Time to start throwing in some cardio.
Thanks guys!!! I’m headed to the gym right now and I’m adding about 10% more to each lift that I planned to do. You guys are great!
Eric - As much as I would like the Celtics to make the finals for you, they have absolutely NO CHANCE of beating my Kings!
KMan, I’ll post my exact workout when I get home from Uni. Can you train lower-body at all? If so, you’re better off than me =)
Jason- You’re right; i was probably “inactive” altogether (not just on the forum) the past few weeks. It sucked. It feels good to be back to serious dieting and training once again. At 20 years of age, it’s my life. Glad to hear you’re gonna give the sprinting a “go round.” I’m sure you won’t be dissapointed by the results. Let me know how you like the 12 minute program; probably yielded the greatest fat burning effects of any program that i’ve tried to date. Personally, i don’t mind busting my ass for 4 minutes for those kind of results. (How the hell do you make a new paragraph on this forum?)
PODGE- Also glad you are going to give this program a try; i would highly recommend you work it into your morning schedule if at all possible. Doing this in correlation with my timed supplemental and nutritional recommendations will give you superior results. If my advice fails; you got a tub of Ultra Fuel on me; just name the flavor ![]()
